On days when you’re seeking respite from the bustle of the city, Sentosa Cove is a tranquil and idyllic destination set against a breathtaking backdrop.

Here, you can take a breather, enjoy the fresh air and indulge in diverse dining options by the bay.

Table by Little Farms Sentosa — the newest waterfront concept by specialty grocer Little Farms — has joined the fray, sporting an al fresco dining experience and a next-door grocery store.

Launched on November 30, this is the brand’s sixth restaurant (and seventh retail store), and marks its first oceanfront venue.

A scenic view

On why the Little Farms team wanted to open their latest concept in the Sentosa enclave, it was because Sentosa was a sought-after location among their customers, who had given feedback that they’d hoped to see a new outlet there.

The team agreed — it would be the perfect oceanfront restaurant to kick back and unwind, away from the constant flurry in the central district. They could also bring their delicious, quality fare to the Sentosa community.

Table by Little Farms Sentosa is a beautiful spot for pictures, too — it boasts a breathtaking panorama of the marina. You also get a scenic view of yachts bobbing on glistening waters, with a light sea breeze in the air.

Exclusives at Table by Little Farms Sentosa

Drawing on its waterfront location, the highlight of Table by Little Farms Sentosa’s menu is its selection of outlet-exclusive seafood dishes. Each dish is prepared with fresh and premium ingredients

The Selva sustainable prawn brioche roll (S$25) is every seafood lover’s delight. It has huge, succulent chunks of fresh Selva shrimp dressed in an aromatic, creamy curry aioli, then spiced with dill for a flavour-packed oomph.

All the ingredients are held together by a lightly-toasted brioche roll, which is sourced from Little Farms’ in-house bakery Starter Lab. (You can purchase the brioche roll, as well as other bakes, from its grocery store just next door, too.) Its body is soft and fluffy, while the corners are crisp.

This dish is available only at lunch, though.

A dish that’s available all-day — and exclusive to both the Sentosa and Tanglin Mall restaurants — is the prosciutto di parma sourdough flatbread (S$25). The flatbread comes in both plain and seeded versions — we prefer the latter, though. It has a nice crunch and roasted fragrance to it.

Slathered in a rich and tangy plum tomato sauce, the dish is a vibrant one topped with an assortment of cheeses, such as parmesan and mozzarella. The prosciutto also carries a smoky edge.

A good soupy option for this cold weather would be the dinner-exclusive poached red snapper in sencha sake broth (S$38), which will warm and nourish the soul. The broth is light and robust, and is embellished with clams, puffed rice and toasted sesame for extra bite and flavour.

The piece de resistance is the poached red snapper — thick and juicy with crisp, golden skin. The meat is tender and flakes off the skin nicely. Completing the dish are slices of pickled radishes, which imbued the broth with a sweet-sour tang.

Also only served at night is the citrus-cured Akaroa salmon (S$18), which we thought was a refreshing appetiser to start the meal. It’s a colourful, eye-catching platter garnished with plump salmon pieces and rye crackers atop a velvety bed of dill cream cheese and drizzled with calamansi.

It’s a rich, yet piquant, appetiser that really whets your appetite.

Table by Little Farms Sentosa also has two new drinks on the menu: Coconut shake (S$15) — a fuschia beverage blended with beetroot and coconut, then topped with a scoop of coconut ice cream — and Cloudy Sunshine (S$8).

The latter is a zesty, full-bodied brew featuring espresso, maple syrup and orange juice, finished with orange cream and whipped cream — Little Farms’ rendition of the orange americano.

When you’re done with your meal, you can also head to the Little Farms grocery store next door to do some shopping.

If you’re hosting a yacht party, or even a picnic nearby, there’s also a butchery and deli counter with cheese and charcuterie platters that are made-to-order.

While Sentosa may be a far-off location to some, Table by Little Farms Sentosa is a charming spot by the bay for brunches and midday catch-ups. You even get a nice view, to boot!
