If you have a penchant for sweets, chances are you’ve already visited Luna, a homegrown patisserie on Amoy Street known for its visually stunning desserts.

The warm glow of the cafe’s sleek, hanging lamps draw you in as you approach its entrance, while the glass display of beautifully crafted cakes and treats will tempt you to take a closer look.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by natural light streaming through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that line the bustling Somerset thoroughfare.

It feels more art gallery than cafe — especially with the centrepiece of flowers and botanicals, created by renowned artist Pei Li, that draws the eye.

The signature sweet treats

The original Luna along Amoy is famed for its flamboyant, handcrafted entremets. At its sister brand Lucine by Luna, this legacy continues with a selection of distinctive treats.

Luna fans will be pleased to find some beloved classics on the menu, including the must-try orh nee cake (S$8.50) and the iconic Tofu (S$8.50). If you’re drawn to nutty flavours, the pistachio roulade (S$8.80), with its creamy pistachio filling and tangy raspberry compote, is sure to satisfy. For those craving a citrusy kick, the citrus tart (S$8.50) is a good choice.

To accompany these sweet indulgences, Lucine offers a range of robust beverages.

The black sesame latte (S$8.50), a house specialty, boasts a rich blend of nutty latte and toasted black sesame. The creamy peanut butter latte (S$8.50) is also a must-try. For something on-trend, the tiramisu latte (S$8.50) offers a lighter, less sweet take on the classic dessert-inspired drink.

New outlet-exclusive brunch staples

With the opening of Lucine by Luna, the brand expands its repertoire of offerings with new hot, savoury brunch options, perfect for either a quick bite or a leisurely meal.

The stars of the menu are its sandwiches, which feature a sturdy base of sourdough or brioche with an array of flavourful fillings. Cheese lovers will find the grilled cheese (S$12.90) irresistible, with its indulgent trio of mozzarella, cheddar and parmesan.

Another standout is the tofu katsu (S$10.90), where a crispy panko crust adds texture to the tofu cutlet, while Sriracha mayo provides just the right tangy kick.

We also enjoyed some sides for sharing, perfect for munching on until the last crumb, such as the truffle tater tots (S$9.90). Crunchy on the outside and fluffy within, these light bites are best enjoyed with the accompanying truffle mayo dip.

There’s also battered spam fries (S$9.90) — another crowd-pleaser — that’s highly addictive.

Other brunch staples, such as the Lucine scrambled eggs (from S$8.90) and sous vide chicken salad (S$12.90), are also served all day. Portions are generally moderate, so if you have a big appetite or are in the mood for a big meal, you might need more than one dish to satisfy your cravings.

This was a hosted tasting.
