The school holidays are here again! The mid-year June holidays began last Friday (May 30) and runs till June 28. If you’re a parent, you’ll know it’s also time to start researching and planning different things to keep your little ones entertained and well-engaged through the month.
Beyond just looking for family-friendly activities such as the usual playground visits and movie outings, why not make food part of the fun, too? From bustling food festivals and interactive dining experiences to kid-friendly cafes and tasty weekend events, there’s plenty happening this June for both parents and children to enjoy together.
If you’re a foodie parent searching for fun things to do this June school holidays, we’ve done the legwork and rounded up 15 family-friendly things to do and places to dine in June that promise good eats, exciting activities, and plenty of memorable moments for everyone.
1. Ikea Play Date

When? June 1 to 21
What is it? No matter how old we get, a part of us always remains childlike. This June holidays, both adults and children can have fun at the Ikea Play Date that features creative games and activities, as well as appetising Ikea food that’s always such a hit with many families in Singapore.
There are two big hide-and-seek events taking place at Ikea stores this June with big prizes of up to 1 million Ikea Family points (worth S$10,000), to be won. The first is a registration-only event happening on June 6 and 7 at Ikea’s Alexandra outlet, from 10am to 10.45am. Put your memory and observation skills to the test as you search for hidden characters around the store.
There’s also a more entry-level golden ball search party that’s open to everyone, taking place over June at the various Ikea outlets:
- June 1 to June 7 — Ikea Tampines
- June 8 to June 14 — Ikea Alexandra
- June 15 to June 21 — Ikea Jurong
There will be 70 golden balls hidden at each Ikea outlet per week, with 10 balls released daily — simply look for a golden ball which will contain a prize slip to win!
If everyone’s feeling a bit peckish after all the activities, those with the Ikea Family membership get to enjoy its “kids eat free” promotion on weekdays for the entire month of June. Members can also enjoy discounted prices on its mixed ball platter (S$7.90, U.P. S$10.40), which comes with three different types of meatballs, mixed vegetables, mashed potato, and a crunchy almond chocolate cake. Ikea’s popular beef meatballs are also on promotion, with a similar combo going for S$7.90, too.
And even if you’re not a member, Ikea has you covered: There are events such as a Hot Dog Party where you can build your own hot dog, or even a Chicken Wing Party where you can garnish Ikea’s signature wings with your toppings of choice. With so much happening, you’ll want to check its website for details before planning a trip down!
2. GastroBeats

What is it? GastroBeats, is returning from June 5 to 28 for the fifth year — promising a bigger, livelier, and more exciting event than ever. Happening at the Bayfront Event Space against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay, the bustling night festival will be a gastronomic, auditory, and visual treat for the senses, with food, music, and art coming together for a vibrant experience.

There are more than 40 F&B vendors onsite so foodies can indulge in a wide variety of culinary delights from both beloved local brands and even aspiring F&B entrepreneurs. Look forward to hearty mains, creative fusion dishes, decadent desserts, and refreshing beverages, with vendors including modern izakaya Neon Pigeon, sandwich masters Korio, and dino ribs experts Jett Barbecue, among many others.

On top of that, when you spend a minimum of S$20 in a single transaction, you can also redeem a free Snow cone or cotton candy at the Grab Dine Out booth on weekends — we can already tell that the kids will be thrilled!
3. Twilight: Flea & Feast

What is it? A halal-friendly flea market, food fair, and family carnival all rolled into one, Twilight: Flea & Feast takes place over the school holidays from June 5 to 7 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Halls 401 to 403. On the food front, you can look forward to a curated mix of F&B concepts, which include halal street food and dessert vendors. Past editions have featured an impressive spread of F&B merchants and we expect this year’s one to be the same, if not more impressive — so come hungry and you will not be disappointed.
4. Pompompurin pop-up at Japan Rail Cafe

When? May 4 to June 14
What is it? You may recognise this yellow dog as Pompompurin, Sanrio’s famous and adorable golden retriever mascot. Even if you don’t, chances are your children will. Japan Rail Cafe at Guoco Tower is celebrating the character’s 30th birthday with a limited-time themed pop-up running from May 4 to June 14.
The collaboration takes diners on a journey through Japan’s Tohoku region, with a themed menu inspired by local specialties and onsen culture. Fans can also shop exclusive Pompompurin merchandise and snap photos with cut-outs of Pompompurin and friends, and use giant plushies as props.
The food is undeniably kawaii, too, with Pompompurin making an appearance throughout the menu. A crowd favourite is the Pompompurin curry rice (S$22.90), where fluffy rice is shaped into the beloved character and served with a rich Japanese curry that isn’t too spicy for children.
For something warm and comforting, the Inaniwa udon Onsen Bath (S$18) features silky noodles in a gentle beef broth inspired by Japan’s onsen culture. Meanwhile, the Pompompurin pudding parfait (S$12.90) is a sweet finish topped with charming themed decorations.
Every order from the special menu also comes with a complimentary limited-edition collectible. Mains come with a rubber table mat, drinks with a coaster, and desserts with a fridge magnet.
Located within Guoco Tower and directly connected to Tanjong Pagar MRT station, the cafe is an easy stop for families and Sanrio fans alike. Queues are expected, especially on the weekends and we’re sure the crowd will grow as the June holidays progress, so it may be worth planning your visit sooner rather than later.
5. City Sprouts Farm Day Out 2026

When? June 20 (Saturday)
What is it? Spend the day out with the entire family exploring City Sprouts at Henderson, an urban farm filled with greenery, educational activities, and play-based exploration on its one-day-only Farm Day Out 2026.
The full-day programme takes place on June 20, and while admission is free, you can purchase its curated kids’ adventure bundles (S$65 per person) for a more immersive and interactive experience for your little ones. There are two different adventure bundles available, each running for about 3.5 hours and offered across two different time slots.
We especially like the farm and food explorer bundle for children aged five to eight, which offers a complete farm-to-table experience. Kids get to harvest fresh greens from the farm before heading into the kitchen, where they’ll use their freshly picked produce to create and decorate their own treats. It’s a fun, hands-on way to learn about where food comes from.
Beyond the ticketed activities, visitors can also enjoy a lineup of complimentary fringe activities throughout the day. Families can bounce around in a bouncy castle, try their luck at game booths, take part in a Father’s Day competition, and browse a marketplace featuring food, crafts, and other family-friendly finds.
If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual mall outing or indoor playground visit, City Sprout’s Farm Day Out 2026 offers an educational and interactive day out for the whole family. Slots for the adventure bundles are limited, so interested families may want to book early via City Sprout’s website.
6. Splashtopia 2026

When? May 30 to June 28
What is it? Beat the June heat by heading over to Sentosa’s Palawan Green for Splashtopia, a tie-up between Kiztopia and Sentosa featuring a massive water play area that kids are sure to love. Expect giant inflatables, splash zones, obstacle courses, and water gun battles that promise hours of fun for the whole family.
Everyone is sure to be famished after all that exertion and water play, so thankfully there will be a delicious variety of food and drink options available on-site, with a carefully curated selection of vendors — such as the well-known food truck concept Nosh!, which dishes out sandwiches and salads— to ensure that there is something for everyone.
If the vendors don’t appeal to you, don’t worry as you’ll also be close to other dining spots at the Beach Station, so that means that there are ample eateries all around. From light bites to refreshing beverages, and cafes to fancy restaurants such as Bedrock Origin, there will be something to satisfy every craving and keep you energised throughout a fun-filled day of play.
7. Red House Seafood Chilli Crab Workshop

When? June 18, July 16 (Red House Seafood also takes requests for other dates if you wish to book a private session.)
What is it? If you are a chilli crab fan and wondering how to whip up your favourite dish, you’re in for a treat this June holidays! Popular, family-owned seafood concept Red House Seafood is celebrating its 50th anniversary by dishing out a chilli crab workshop (S$198 for two persons) that lets both parents and kids alike roll up their sleeves, and get crackin’ on their very own chilli crab dish! Kids are allowed to join in the fun as long as there is a parent supervising!
In this workshop, you’ll learn the difference between male and female crabs, glean tips on identifying quality crabs, and understand how roe, claws, and meat quality can vary. There will also be a live chef demonstration, followed by — the highlight of the experience — a guided hands-on session where you’ll cook your very own restaurant-quality chilli crab.
You’ll also end the workshop on a high by getting to feast on your own freshly prepared dish, paired with Red House Seafood’s golden crab mantous, and a serving of noodles tossed in luscious chilli crab sauce.
It’s a rare opportunity to experience the craft behind one of Singapore’s most iconic dishes. What’s more, you’re learning from a local heritage institution that’s been around for decades, now run by its third-generation owners. As there are limited sessions (June 18 and July 16 for now), we’d recommend book early on Red House Seafood’s website to secure your place for this flavour-packed experience. Or if you can rustle up enough interested parents and kids (chilli crab party, maybe?) you can even request for a private session on another date!
Whether you’re a chilli crab lover, a home cook, or someone simply looking for a unique family activity this June 2026 holidays, this hands-on workshop offers a fun and memorable way to experience one of Singapore’s most iconic dishes up close.
8. Great June Playzone by GuocoLand at Lentor Modern & Guoco Midtown

When? Now till June 28
What is it? This June, GuocoLand is hosting The Great June Play Zone, a month-long family event at its venues Lentor Modern Mall and Guoco Midtown II. The event features a range of school holiday activities designed to provide children with wholesome, all-rounded experiences, including hands-on activities and workshops organised in collaboration with participating mall vendors.
At Lentor Modern mall, there will be an indoor play area, open to all, featuring a playground, giant building blocks, a mini ball pit, and a doodle wall. Looking for more to entertain the kids? Shoppers who spend a minimum of S$60 (or S$120 at Cold Storage Fresh) can redeem a complimentary craft workshop or workshops hosted by participating enrichment centres. Be sure to check the dates and timings for these workshops before heading down.
At Guoco Midtown II, shoppers who spend a minimum of S$20 can redeem a complimentary session at the Little Explorer’s Play Zone, which features four hands-on activity stations by Impressions Kids Club: Slime making, unicorn sculpting, the Wonder Workshop (where children can paint their own unicorn), and a doodle wall.
Little foodies are in for a treat, too, with complimentary food-making workshops, such as pizza, temaki, and la mian (pulled noodle) making workshops held every weekend, giving children the chance to roll up their sleeves and create tasty treats of their own.
As slots are limited and pre-registration is required, be sure to check what workshops are available on which dates, and sign up early to avoid disappointing the little ones.
While the little ones are kept busy with fun and educational activities, parents can squeeze in some retail therapy, enjoy a meal, or simply take a breather from the June heat. Sounds like a win-win for the whole family!
9. Tamago-En’s souffle pancake decorating class

When? June 13, 14, and 20
What is it? Always wanted to learn how to make Tamago-En’s fluffy souffle pancakes? Good news because you can do so this June holidays with a souffle pancake-decorating workshop. Afterall, who doesn’t love these airy, jiggly pancakes that are thicker yet softer than regular pancakes?
At just S$18 per adult-child pair, it’s also a fun and affordable bonding experience for adults and little ones aged three to 10 years old. If you have more than two in your group, simply top up an additional S$7 the additional person — and get additional pancakes as well.
Over a two-hour session, each adult-child pair will receive a plain souffle pancake base as an edible canvas. Let your creativity run free as you and your child slather on whipped cream (matcha or oreo cream) before finishing it off with toppings of your choice, including icing sugar, caramel sauce, berry sauce, maple syrup, biscotti, and black biscuit.
Of course, you’ll get to savour your own creation afterwards — but don’t forget to snap some photos before gobbling it all down! Participants who share their creative masterpieces on Instagram and tag Tamago-En’s Instagram handle will also receive an exclusive e-voucher.
There are only spaces for 10 pairs (or 20 persons in total) per session, and while the brand planned for the event to be on just one weekend, due to overwhelming demand, it has opened a new session on June 20, too, so be sure to book your slot quickly!
10. The Coach Restaurant’s Sunday prime rib sessions

When? Every Sunday, from June 7
What is it? A slice of New York arrived in Singapore in the form of The Coach Restaurant at Jewel Changi Airport last year, and has been making waves with its food that’s sophisticated yet unpretentious and comforting. And now, steak lovers now have something new to rejoice about.
Starting from the first Sunday of June, the restaurant is introducing a new weekend tradition — Sunday Prime Rib (S$68 per diner) — where diners can experience the classic tableside service synonymous with New York’s old-school steakhouses. Expect prime rib that’s carved, prepared, and presented tableside from a rolling trolley. It’s definitely a little theatrical, that’s where the charm lies, right? And honestly, no one’s complaining when the show’s a good one, especially since kids are bound to love the whole visual experience too.
Now let’s talk about the prime rib itself, which is truly the heart of the experience. The corn-fed beef is sourced in partnership with Butcher Box Singapore, before being dry-aged in-house for 20 to 25 days. During the process, excess fat is trimmed, rendered, and infused with smoked corn husks and Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This flavourful concoction is then brushed over the prime rib for that extra layer of richness and depth.
The prime rib is served with a choice of two individual sides: Mashed potatoes, arugula salad, grilled curly kale with ranch dressing, grilled vegetables, creamed spinach, or a baked russet potato cooked in beef fat and topped with Gruyere and cheddar. Sounds like a really all-rounded experience if you ask us!

11. Food Capital: Flavours of Malaysia

When? June 1 to July 12
What is it? If you have no travel plans over the June school holidays, how about travelling with food instead? Food Capital at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore brings the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia, to you, whether you’re craving Penang-style hawker fare, Kuala Lumpur classics, or uniquely Johorean dishes.
From June 1 to July 12, Food Capital will be presenting its halal-certified Flavours of Malaysia buffet in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia and the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore. The buffet will feature guest chefs flying in from different states across Malaysia with their best dishes, so you can definitely expect a delicious and diverse spread of regional specialties — including lesser-known ones — and authentic local flavours from heritage recipes.
There’ll also be exciting live stations and interactive elements that recreate the lively atmosphere of Malaysia’s bustling food scene.
There are both lunch and dinner options available, with buffet lunch prices starting at S$72 per adult and S$36 per child from Monday to Saturday. The best part for families? Children aged five and under dine for free!
12. Dinner Buffet in the Rainforest at Planter’s Shed

When? Ongoing
What is it? If you’re looking for a dining destination with a different vibe, Planter’s Shed at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree might just be the closest you can get to dining in the vicinity of a rainforest in Singapore. Spacious and brightly lit, the restaurant’s full-length glass windows offer lovely views of lush greenery and the sounding Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
It serves up a solid dinner buffet (S$60 per adult from Monday to Thursday, S$68 per adult from Friday to Sunday) featuring a mix of international and local cuisine, alongside live cooking stations and roving tableside service. Look forward to a spread of chilled seafood, premium cuts, Asian selections, Indian dishes, as well as signatures like the Planter’s Shed laksa that has earned rave reviews. There is also an ice cream corner that children will love.
But what makes it an especially great spot to check out over the June holidays, is its family-friendly promotion: Children aged six to 12 years old enjoy 50% off the buffet price, while children below six dine free. Plus, it’s just a short distance away from the rest of the attractions in Mandai, which include the all-new Exploria and Curiosity Cove — two nature-themed indoor edutainment (education and entertainment!) spaces designed for young explorers.
So spend your day out at Mandai Wildlife Reserve discovering its latest attractions, before heading over to Planter’s Shed for a bountiful and indulgent dinner to round off the day.
13. W Singapore – Sentosa Cove: Sunday Brunch at The Kitchen Table

When? Ongoing
What is it? If you find yourself at Sentosa over the June holidays, W Singapore – Sentosa Cove has something special planned for its usual Sunday brunch at The Kitchen Table.
The usual buffet, priced at S$138 per adult and S$69 for children aged six to 12 years old, will be complimentary for young ones under six, making it an enticing option for a family-friendly outing. But more than just food, during the June holidays, the Sunday brunch experience also includes weekly entertainment and activities that are sure to delight your young ones — balloon sculpting, face painting, roving magicians, and even live bongo performances.
On the spread, seafood lovers will be especially excited to know that The Kitchen Table is spotlighting premium Australian seafood throughout June. There will also be live stations serving up favourites such as Swiss raclette and paella, along with pass-around selections such as lobster, prawn rolls, and pork sliders. For the kids, there is also a dedicated corner with a chocolate fountain and a variety of sweet treats that we’re sure every little one will love.
And after you’ve had your fill, head over to the hotel’s pool (brunch diners can enjoy complimentary access from 3pm to 7pm even if you’re not a hotel guest). With great food, family-friendly entertainment, and an afternoon by the pool, it’s an easy way to turn a Sunday brunch into a full day of fun.
14. Try out a kid-friendly dining experience

If you ever feel like you’re running out of fun things to do with your kids, you have to check out our comprehensive list of fun kid-friendly food things to do with the kids.
From DIY pizzas to chocolate making, Singapore has many family-oriented dining spots that insert an element of fun to the mealtime experience. At these spots, kids can take part in hands-on food activities or workshops that spark their creativity, keep them entertained, and even teach them a thing or two about how their favourite treats are made.
For example, kids will absolutely love Carrara Cafe’s ice-cream making workshop where they will learn easy recipes that can be recreated at home.
These experiences are guaranteed to put smiles on little faces, and perhaps even bring out the inner child in us grown-ups too as we join in the fun with our children, and explore the world again through their eyes.
15. Visit a unique, kid-friendly restaurant

Keeping young children happy is often simpler than we think — good food and a little bit of magic can go a long way. We know how restaurants, especially the themed ones, have the ability to turn an ordinary meal into a memorable family experience. That’s why we have rounded up a list of unique dining experiences that you could explore with your kids.
One that is sure to captivate is the Le Petit Chef: Just imagine what a magical experience it would be for children, watching as the animated miniature chef dances across their plates and tells his story, as they feast on a junior menu filled with kid-approved favourites.
If none of our unique restaurants caught your eye, there are also plenty of kid-friendly restaurants in Singapore that have been thoughtfully designed with young diners in mind. From spacious layouts where children can roam around safely, to dedicated play areas, or simply a range of activities and toys that’ll keep the kids entertained, we have them all — parent-approved.
One standout for us is Cafe Melba, well-loved for its wide, open spaces and bouncy castles that keep little ones happily entertained.
For me as a parent, the best family dining spots are those that combine good food, comfortable vibes, and a touch of fun and you best believe we’ve rounded up some of the very best above!
For more ideas on what to explore this June holidays, check out this cosy cat cafe near Upper Thomson MRT and Australian froyo chain Yo-Chi’s new outlet at Star Vista.
