Elijah Pies opens laid-back concept in Joo Chiat with new exclusive menu items
Elijah Pies has long been a familiar name among dessert lovers, with its signature pies frequently making the rounds on social media.
The homegrown brand is best known for its creative selection of sweet pies, from familiar favourites to more unconventional flavours.
The brand started out as a takeaway-only home-based business in 2014 before opening its first dine-in space in Tanjong Pagar in 2023. Its convenient CBD location quickly made it a popular spot among office workers, though the cosy, home-like space can get especially busy when the crowds roll in.
Now, owners Limin Wong and Elijah Tan, both 36, have taken things up a notch with a bigger, dedicated space in Joo Chiat. With a greater focus on service and a more laidback dining experience, the new flagship invites diners to settle in for pies, drinks, and a new lineup of exclusive menu items.
The new Joo Chiat flagship officially opens tomorrow (September 12).

You won’t miss its navy-blue entrance, with the Elijah Pies name emblazoned across the shopfront. Set in a heritage shophouse, the space feels cosy and laid-back, with a clean, contemporary look.
It’s pet-friendly, too, with outdoor seating, a water tap for fur friends, and even treats on the menu just for them!
Step inside and you’ll find a much bigger space that seats around 60 diners, complete with an open kitchen, a 10-seater family table fitted with a lazy Susan, and even a private dining room.

The private room is especially pretty, with a tinted skylight that lets natural light filter in gently from above. The rest of the space gets plenty of daylight, too, so if you’re hoping to snap some aesthetic shots for Instagram, we’d recommend dropping by in the day.

Expect new, exclusive menu items at Joo Chiat
Beyond its signature pies, Elijah Pies is introducing a lineup of new creations exclusive to Joo Chiat. And we have to say, some of these might just steal the spotlight.

The most interesting addition is its new line-up of pizza pies, which the brand touts as Singapore’s first. Each one comes with a flaky, croissant-like crust and is generously loaded with savoury toppings, making it great for sharing, though we reckon we could easily polish one off solo.
There are four flavours to choose from: Truffle croque (S$24), “Cheeseburger” (S$23), Ruffles (S$23), and garlic ebi (S$22).
While we’d happily try them all, the “Cheeseburger” immediately caught our eye. It features a wagyu beef patty topped with sweet corn and Mexican hot sauce, though unfortunately, we didn’t get to try this one.

What we did get our hands on was the Ruffles, topped tableside with a sour cream and onion espuma, and filled with potato gratin and portobello duxelles, before being finished with chive oil. It was creamy, earthy and packed with savoury flavours.

There are new additions for those who love sweets, too. Among them is a local favourite, the kaya toffee pie (S$9). Despite the vibrant green hue, the kaya flavour is surprisingly subtle — it’s well-balanced and not overly sweet. Safe to say, we couldn’t get enough of this one.
Launched specially for the Joo Chiat opening, the kaya toffee pie will also be available at the Tanjong Pagar outlet soon.
The Elijah souffle pie (S$18) steals the spotlight and is exclusive to the Joo Chiat store, though. The cloud-soft souffle reveals a warm gianduja centre, layered over almond joconde and hazelnut praline. Think warm, gooey Nutella goodness, but in pie form!
You’ll have to allow for a 20-minute wait, though, as each pie is baked fresh to order. But good things are worth the wait!

Wash it all down with a craft mocktail
Another unique offering at Elijah Pies is its lineup of craft mocktails. While mocktails can sometimes taste like watered-down versions of their alcoholic counterparts, the ones here come surprisingly close to the real deal.
Designed to be Muslim-friendly, each drink recreates the flavours and experience of classic alcoholic drinks, sans the booze. There are four to choose from, each with its own unique blend and story.
The Rolly Lolly (S$13) takes inspiration from Elijah’s love for mangoes, pairing the fruit with a fragrant grapefruit syrup and an orange lollipop. The drink is refreshing and citrusy, with an orange blossom lolly for a subtle floral sweetness in between sips.

The White Soiree (S$12) closely resembles a glass of prosecco — so much so that we had to do a double take. It’s made with caffeine-free sparkling white tea, white grape, and carbonated grape sugar, with popping candy lining the rim. You’re meant to take a sip, with a little bit of the candy, all for that fizzy, bubbly goodness.
Elijah Pies opening gifts
To celebrate the opening, Elijah Pies will also be giving out adorable mini bags, decorated with playful charms of drinks, pies, and even pets such as cats and dogs.

Each bag comes with a box of two mini pies and can be redeemed if you spend a minimum of S$40 and get a drink.
These are available while stocks last, so head down soon to check out its new range of pies and snag one while you’re there!
