Revel in the magic of the season with these gourmet offerings in Singapore

This festive season is about to be an unforgettable one, as we close the final chapter of 2023 with sumptuous feasts, lavish gifts and a whole lotta joy. 

Needless to say, we’re all gearing up for an epic celebration like no other — and that includes ringing up our contacts and snagging reservations at restaurants. 

But of course, with a multitude of establishments doling out festive bundles, it’s hard to pick a venue to best host this momentous affair. We do have a handful of popular locations in mind, though.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has 13 hotels in Singapore and seven of them are rolling out gourmet buffet spreads, afternoon tea sets and festive takeaways that will charm your loved ones. Think Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, voco Orchard Singapore and Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, among others.

1. Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong 

Katong Square, 86 East Coast Road

Baba Chews, a modern Asian outfit under Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, has proudly unveiled its year-end festive offerings. Titled “Festive Flair”, the highlight is an elaborate 10-dish course that seamlessly incorporates flavours from the east and west. The menu is headed by head chef Kit Ngiam, who spins a unique Asian flair on contemporary Latin cuisine. 

Star dishes: The selection is extensive, with each dish thoughtfully assembled for the festive season. The holiday roast section is sublime, spanning from a whole turkey (up to 5kg) that’s marinated to crisp golden-brown perfection, to a black angus ribeye roast (1 to 2kg) that’s accompanied by a trinity of decadent sauces. The firewood-grilled assam halibut is another must-try, with tender fish atop an assam-infused broth, Mediterranean rice and baladi salad.

The promotion: The festive menu is available for both dine-in and takeaway until Dec 31. For the former, prices start from S$58 per adult and S$29 per child.

2. voco Orchard Singapore

581 Orchard Road

Invite your loved ones to Opus Bar & Grill at voco Orchard Singapore for a time of extravagant feasting! The acclaimed steakhouse has rolled out a mouthwatering buffet repertoire of yuletide classics, fresh seafood and indulgent sweets. You can also toast to the unforgettable occasion with festive-inspired cocktails, courtesy of the bartender’s special concoctions. 

Star dishes: With vibrant, decadent morsels tucked in every corner, Opus Bar & Grill amazes with its hearty buffet spread. Whet your appetite with the pan-seared foie gras and escargot before you move on to the grilled section. Grilled over jarrah firewood, key dishes include the savoury Moroccan lamb porterhouse chops and spice-rubbed pork ribs. Don’t discount the variety of desserts, which boast over 20 different sweets. Our top pick is the D9 signature cheesecake log, though. 

The promotion: The menu is available for dine-in until Dec 31. However, depending on your preferred date, there are different prices, starting from S$128 per adult and S$64 per child (6 to 12 years old).

3. InterContinental Singapore

80 Middle Road

Step into a world of opulence and grandeur with InterContinental Singapore’s tempting array of festive delights at LUCE by Davide Giacomelli! This year, the famed Italian restaurant has pulled out all the stops to craft a luxurious Christmas buffet that truly embodies the holiday spirit. 

For starters, you’ll be awed by the striking curation of traditional festive favourites, Italian specialities and luscious sweets. The final cosy touch comes from the gorgeous set-up of the dining space, which is decked in exquisite shades of Grandeur Blue. 

Star dishes: Be prepared for an evening of splendour, as must-haves such as the succulent cosciotto d’agnello (leg of lamb) and dry-aged, grain-fed angus bone-in ribeye take centre-tage. Stop by the seafood-on-ice station, which is brimming with Boston lobsters, snow crab legs and fine de claire verte oysters. Classic desserts are also reimagined into modern interpretations, such as the snow white coconut mousse cake and Christmas fruit spiced plum pudding. 

The promotion: The festive menu will run until Jan 1, 2024. But for a celebration like no other, we recommend swinging by on Christmas Day. Prices start from S$188 per adult and S$6 per child (aged three to five years old).

4. Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre

11 Cavenagh Road

This year, ring in the merry season with a culinary extravaganza at Window on the Park by Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. Themed “Fiery Festive Fest”, the beloved restaurant turns up the heat with its medley of spicy and grilled delicacies. Brace yourselves, for this buffet lineup is only for the foodies who love all things flaming-hot, savoury and oh-so-delicious. And yes, the establishment is halal-certified, so rope in your Muslim friends for the celebration! 

Star dishes: What’s a fiery feast without dishes with a red-hot, tongue-numbing spice? Items that are not to be missed are the curry devil’s chicken and baked spicy torch ginger flower and chilli padi turkey. Boy, do they pack a punch! For those who prefer lighter flavours, you’ll love the rock lobster and grilled marinated Australian lamb chop.

The promotion: The festive buffet is available until Jan 2, 2024. Prices will differ depending on the buffet package that you opt for. For adults, prices start from S$58 per person, while it costs S$35 per child. If you go for the weekend brunch or dinner buffet, there is a 1-for-1 promotion for two adults at S$150.

5. Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

How about skipping the glitz and glamour this season for a tropical-themed celebration instead? This year, delight your senses at Atrium Restaurant by Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium as you tuck into a smorgasbord of perennial festive favourites — all of which are peppered with a quirky tropical twist. 

Star dishes: The roasted turkey with coconut crust is the ultimate centerpiece of every dinner table. It’s a creative, exotic take on the traditional roast, for sumptuous meat is paired with a crunchy coconut crust for a refreshing sweetness. The ginger log cake is quite the star, too, with slight herbaceous notes from the ginger embedded within the fluffy lychee sponge cake. 

The promotion: The buffet is available until Jan 1, 2024. Prices start from S$108 per adult and S$25 per child (six to 12 years old). But since this season is all about giving, the restaurant is rolling out a discounted price of 50% off for adults! Children below five years old also dine for free.

6. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Singapore Novena

201 Balestier Road

Calling all seafood fanatics! You have to try the lobster buffet at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Singapore Novena! Themed “Balestier Christmas”, this gourmet spread at Express Cafe & Bar is all about revelling in its motley of premium seafood dishes. Of course, other festive decadence includes classic treats infused with heritage flavours, but best believe that the luxe lobster buffet perfectly captures the true essence of the holiday season. 

Star dishes: First, relish the eye-watering selection of fresh, ice-cold sushi and sashimi — then, delve into the assortment of Boston lobsters, Japanese oysters, tiger prawns, and more. But our favourite lobster creation is the lobster thermidor, which sees gigantic Boston lobsters topped with tangy thermidor sauce and a smattering of mushrooms. If not, warm your tummies with the lobster pao fan, which comes with fluffy rice steeped in a creamy broth. 

The promotion: Note that the lobster buffet runs until Dec 31 and is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. It costs S$118 per adult and S$59 per child (six to 12 years old).

7. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

Here, indulge in tasty dishes chock-full of heartwarming Italian flavours that will undoubtedly remind you of Italy. Bask in the moment with your loved ones as you savour these morsels in the comfort of your own home! 

Star dishes: Don’t miss the Piemonte turkey roulade (6kg), which features flavourful turkey that’s marinated and slow-roasted to perfection. It’s stuffed with a delectable combination of bread, pork sausage, chestnuts, and more. It’s also served with smoked mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and a red wine sauce. Alternatively, try the pork porchetta (2kg), for juicy pork belly slices that are seasoned with a yummy blend of garlic, fennel seeds, rosemary, and others.
