If you’ve enjoyed the food from Peranakan-inspired restaurant White Tiffin, you should definitely check out its newly launched weekend Peranakan lunch buffet at Hotel Faber Park.

A new concept by the brand, The White Tiffin Fusion serves up a weekend lunch buffet spread of its well-loved Peranakan dishes, with an extended western menu on weekdays and after weekend lunch hours.

As part of its launch, The White Tiffin Fusion is offering an opening promotional price of S$28.80 (UP: S$32.80) for adults for its weekend lunch buffet, until Dec 31.

Expect to find dishes like nasi lemak, babi pongteh (braised pork in fermented soy bean sauce), sayur lodeh (vegetable stew in coconut milk), prawn paste chicken wings and do-it-yourself stations for nyonya laksa and rojak, in the mix.

Did we mention that The White Tiffin’s signature nyonya kuehs are also included in the buffet?

A caveat: If you’re expecting an extensive, multi-table spread of dishes that you might have come to expect of hotel buffets, then this might not be your first go-to.

But at S$28.80 (or S$32.80 when the promotion ends), it’s a value-for-money spread for anyone who loves Peranakan-style dishes, or for anyone who is a huge fan of The White Tiffin’s offerings.

We also loved that despite the big-batch, buffet-style cooking, every dish still tasted homely, as if it came straight from the kitchen of its founder Linda Tan.

This is the brand’s fourth outpost — it has other outlets at Changi City Point, Esplanade Xchange and Woodlands Square. If you’re not too familiar with them, its parent company Manna Pot and its buffet catering arm may ring a bell.

However, this is the first time the brand is introducing its The White Tiffin Fusion concept.

Speaking to us on the sidelines of its media launch, general manager Belicia Tan told us that when the brand was approached to open at Hotel Faber Park Singapore, they saw it as an opportune time to widen The White Tiffin’s range of offerings, given that the clientele at the hotel is likely to be diverse.

Hotel Faber Park also recently opened in October.

Aside from offering its Peranakan favourites in an all-you-can-eat buffet format, they also wanted to tap on its culinary team’s expertise in western cuisine, so western-style dishes were added to the menu here.

Expect to find dishes such as prawn paste chicken burger (S$22), which features a crispy prawn paste chicken thigh sandwiched between toasted brioche buns and breaded crispy otah served with sambal aioli (S$16)

As the hotel’s anchor restaurant, The White Tiffin Fusion also serves its daily breakfast spread, offering a mix of continental and Asian dishes.

With the hotel and restaurant located in the vicinity of Mount Faber, surrounded by its lush greenery, we think it makes for a quiet, peaceful getaway whether you’re gunning for a solo staycation or for some quality family time.

This was a hosted tasting.
