If you’re like us and love Don Don Donki’s tasty and affordable eats, this will make your day: The supermarket brand has just opened its 17th outlet, Don Don Donki Tiong Bahru.

So if you find yourself on the hunt for good food in the vicinity, you can hop on by for a leisurely stroll and browse through its many wares.

The new Don Don Donki Tiong Bahru outlet is conveniently located at level three of Tiong Bahru Plaza, sitting right on top of Tiong Bahru MRT station.

The decor is intentionally jazzed up to have a “retro Japanese” feel, with small touches scattered throughout, including traditional lanterns and trims inspired by classic Japanese clay-tiled roofs.

Of course, like all other outlets, the new Tiong Bahru location also comes stocked up with everyone’s favourite Japanese grub, with the added treat of some cool new items.

One interesting addition is the maguro steak skewers that feature chunky blocks of cooked tuna meat, made using rare parts of the fish, such as the head and tail.

This item draws inspiration from the popular wagyu kushi beef skewers previously introduced by the popular supermarket.

Another newcomer at Don Don Donki Tiong Bahru is its inari sushi dishes — basically a traditional style of sushi where the rice and fillings are stuffed into sweet-savoury pockets of fried tofu, as compared to the usual seaweed.

The new outlet will be carrying more modern twists on inari-style sushi with unique takes including inari yuzu and inari brown sugar.

Of course, you will still be able to find your usual range of sushi — but the more varieties, the merrier!
