Bangkok Jam launches S$19.90 Thai buffet for its 19th anniversary — here’s what we liked!

It’s hard to keep the lights on for two decades in a fiercely competitive F&B industry, such as the one we have in Singapore.

Restaurants open and close in the blink of an eye, which is what makes brands such as Bangkok Jam so much more worth cherishing.

It might not be the most familiar name for most Singaporeans, but Bangkok Jam is a beloved Thai eatery that has operated for 19 years.

It first opened its doors at the then-Great World City in 2007 — it’s been around so long that even the name of the mall has changed!

To celebrate the big 19, the restaurant has put together a wonderful celebratory feast for its loyal supporters, in the form of an 80-minute all-you-can-eat buffet!

(PS: There will be a wastage charge at S$5/100g.)

If you are a big eater, this is something you don’t want to miss: Bangkok Jam’s 19th anniversary all-you-can-eat buffet promotion starts from S$19.90 and includes a slew of 19 different signature dishes.

On top of that, you can also top up S$7 per diner for the premium buffet (S$26.90 per diner, minimum two to dine) to enjoy premium dishes, drinks, and desserts.

Do note that the buffet is only available on weekdays from 5pm to 8pm!

So, what do you get for S$19.90?

Bangkok Jam’s 19th anniversary buffet is split into two portions: There’s a self-service buffet line, and fresh dishes you can order straight from the kitchen.

From the buffet line, we enjoyed the fragrant vegan olive fried rice and the stir-fried minced basil pork the most.

But the spread also includes other crowd-pleasers such as signature pad thai, Isan-style green papaya salad, and green curry chicken with Thai brinjal!

However, the star of the buffet isn’t on the self-service buffet line, and is one of the items you must order from the kitchen — don’t forget to order it!

We’re talking about Bangkok Jam’s khao soi pork ribs noodle (one serving per two diners). Do note that this dish can only be ordered once!

Why do we love it? The rich and comforting curry, and the mix of bouncy and crunchy noodles just feels so satisfying.

That’s just for the S$19.90 buffet, though. We’d actually highly recommend topping up for the S$26.90 premium buffet — it’s worth it.

For starters, you get to feast on our favourite steamed seabass with chilli & lime (one serving per two diners), where the flesh is soft, silky, and swimming in an addictively piquant sauce.

Meat lovers can also order the juicy black pepper beef (one serving per diner) and, most importantly, unlimited servings of Bangkok Jam’s moo ping (Thai grilled pork skewers)!

You know what else is unlimited? Desserts! You can indulge in caramelised tapioca and red ruby to your heart’s desire.

As far as Thai desserts go, we thought Bangkok Jam’s renditions were nice and not too sweet!

On top of that, you can also choose a drink from the three options of lemongrass, honey tamarind, and Thai milk tea.

It’s definitely a pretty good deal, and Thai-food lovers should take advantage of this promo and visit Bangkok Jam to get stuffed on all the pad thai you want!

This was a hosted tasting.
