Savour new ready-to-eat dishes with an elevated twist from 7-Eleven, available for a limited-time only
We’ve probably all heard of the age-old adage: “Don’t fix what ain’t broke.” If you ask an experienced chef, this probably applies to the most time-honoured, tried-and-tested recipes.
We’ll admit: The joy of comfort food stems from savouring familiar flavours we know and love.
But every now and then, we appreciate when classic dishes are spruced up, especially if it means fresh, bolder flavours.
So when 7-Eleven launched its new, limited-time-only line of ready-to-eat offerings, we were raring to give them a try.
If you’re a fan of its 7-Select dishes, you know that the brand regularly rolls out new items with interesting twists.
Named “A World of Flavour Explosion”, the latest menu revolves around ready-to-eat meals and hearty sandwiches that are available for a limited time, until Aug 13. This time round, some of its signature 7-Select dishes have been made “atas” (elevated), with new recipes.
And don’t say we bo jio, but all items in this new menu are going at a discounted price of up to 10% off! This promotion will run until Jul 16, so head to your nearest 7-Eleven store and make the most of the deal before it’s over.
Ready-to-eat meals
7-Eleven is well-loved for its pre-packed, fuss-free and ready-to-eat meals that are easy to heat up and go. In particular, its new menu includes three creations inspired by comforting and reliable Western dishes:
- Beef meat sauce pasta (S$4.40, U.P. S$4.80) sees perfectly al dente spaghetti loaded with an umami-packed meat sauce. Give the noodles a good toss and stir for that burst of addictive savouriness in your mouth.
- Butter chicken enchiladas (S$5, U.P. S$5.50) are inspired by 7-Eleven’s fan-favourite butter chicken biryani. This variation features a tortilla wrap chock-full of butter chicken and onions, which is then coated in a delicious chicken butter gravy and adorned with shredded cheese.
- Creamy chicken ham baked rice (S$5, U.P. S$5.50) is a sinful and carby treat that comprises corn and ham in crispy baked rice. It’s enveloped in a flavourful bechamel sauce (a French-style gravy made from butter, flour and milk), then topped with nacho and shredded cheeses.
Sandwiches
The loaded sandwiches at 7-Eleven make for great breakfast and brunch staples, especially since they come in an assortment of fillings and ingredients. As part of the latest menu, two new sandwiches have been added to the selection:
- Spicy chicken ham and egg croque monsieur (S$3,90, U.P. S$4.30) is 7-Eleven’s spin on the classic French ham and cheese sandwich. Look forward to a fluffy toast layered with slices of ham and gooey melted cheese on eggs.
- Egg and cheese and chicken ham cream cheese sandwiches (S$3,90, U.P. S$4.30) come in a set with one of each flavour. This lets you savour the best of both worlds — a luscious egg and cheese filling in one, while the other boasts slices of ham nestled atop a layer of decadent cream cheese.
