The good news is that the September school holidays are just around the corner. From September 5 to September 13, the kids get a well-deserved break, giving families the perfect excuse to slow down, head out, and spend some quality time together.
And if there’s one thing we know about Singaporean families, it’s that food is always part of the fun. After all, there’s something about gathering around a good meal that can turn an ordinary day out into a memorable family experience.
From exciting food fairs and flea markets to family-friendly buffets and indulgent treats, there’s plenty to look forward to!
Here are 6 fun and food-filled experiences worth checking out during the September school holidays.
1. Hidden Bites trail at Aperia Mall
When? August 1 to September 30
What is it? Fancy going on a food trail where you get to savour some good bites, while netting yourself some vouchers? Aperia Mall’s Hidden Bites Trail is where you can do just that. Located in the vicinity of Kallang, Lavender, and Bendemeer, it has an exciting lineup of food options, especially with the recent opening of a new F&B wing.
To participate in the Hidden Bites Trail, all you have to do is spend a minimum of S$10 at a participating dining spot (using eCapitaVoucher, Mastercard, DBS/POSB payment modes or Shopback Pay) to earn a stamp for each qualifying transaction. Once you have collected five stamps, you will be rewarded with a S$20 eCapitaVoucher — how’s that for a good deal?

2. Air Force Day 2026
When? September 5 and 6
What is it? If you love planes, helicopters, and all things aviation-related, Air Force Day 2026 is set to be an exciting weekend for the whole family!
Held over just one weekend at the Singapore Air Force Museum, the event celebrates the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)’s anniversary, offering visitors the chance to find out more about the world of aviation and what it takes to keep Singapore’s skies safe. There’ll be exciting hands-on activities such as aircraft simulators and interactive games, alongside static aircraft displays, and sharing sessions that are sure to pique your interest.
And of course, we’re not forgetting the food! When you need a break from all the aviation action, head to the food bazaar curated by events company Mak Besar, where you can refuel with a selection of savoury bites and sweet treats, as well as coffee, matcha, and other ice-cold drinks. Admission to the event is free, but advance registration is required. After booking your admission ticket, do remember to complete the online guest registration form sent in your confirmation email — you’ll need to flash it for entry.
3. You’ve Got A Friend In Me high tea at Skai
When? September 1 to November 30
What is it? Calling all Toy Story fans! Head to Skai over the holidays for an enchanting and whimsical afternoon tea inspired by Disney and Pixar’s much-loved Toy Story films. The You’ve Got A Friend In Me Toy Story-inspired high tea is priced at S$78 per adult and S$39 per child aged six to 12, and is available from September 1 to November 30.
Taking place high above the clouds on Level 70 of Swissotel The Stamford, this themed experience brings some familiar characters and playful moments to the table. Expect a creative selection of sweet and savoury treats, thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented by Skai’s culinary team using quality ingredients and plenty of imagination. You’ll also get to choose from a Toy Story-inspired alcohol-free cocktail, TWG tea, or gourmet coffee to accompany your meal.
It’s a fun way for parents and children to enjoy a leisurely afternoon together while taking in spectacular views of the city — and perhaps reliving a little childhood nostalgia along the way.
The best part? If you can’t fit this into your September school-holiday plans, there’s still plenty of time to go. 4. Free mini waffles at Bangkok Jam
When? September 1 to 30
What is it? This September, mealtimes at Bangkok Jam will be a little sweeter because children aged seven and below can enjoy a free quarter-waffle portion with every two paying adults. How’s that for a sweet treat?
This promotion is a great opportunity to bring the little ones along for a family lunch or dinner. After tucking into Bangkok Jam’s selection of authentic and contemporary Thai dishes, the adults can enjoy a range of Thai desserts, while the little ones savour their own mini waffle that’s served with ice cream.

Treat the family to a feast at Lime Restaurant at Parkroyal Collection Pickering during the September school holidays, where children aged 12 and below can dine free with every fully paying adult, and up to two children per reservation. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather the family around the table and tuck into a hearty buffet spread, with something for everyone, whether young or old.
Little ones can look forward to holiday favourites such as truffle cream parmesan wheel pasta, garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, wok-fried salted egg chicken and cereal prawns, while adults can indulge in more premium offerings including fresh Boston lobster, tiger prawns, Indonesian-style curry crab and Australian angus beef striploin. And one item that’s sure to be a hit with the kids? The restaurant’s iconic chocolate fountain.
Prices are tiered depending on when you visit. Buffet lunch starts from S$58 per adult, while buffet dinner starts from S$78 per adult. Weekend diners can also opt for Cheers o’Clock, a teatime option available from 3pm to 5pm, for S$68 per adult without free-flow beverages or S$88 with free-flow alcoholic beverages.

The September edition takes place over the tail-end of school holidays, from September 11 to September 13 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Halls 401 to 403. With hundreds of retail, lifestyle, and F&B stalls gathered under one roof, it’s the perfect way to wrap up the week with a last hurrah of shopping, eating, and soaking up all the good vibes.
The food lineup is set to be impressive as always, with the list of vendors already announced.
