Tim Hortons has taken Singapore by storm since the launch of its first store at VivoCity last November. Since then, it has quickly expanded to include six other coffeehouses at Nex, Suntec City, Jurong Point, One Raffles Place, Jem and Pasir Ris Mall.

These outlets join over 5,800 Tim Hortons’ restaurants in over 15 markets, including the United States, China and Thailand.

Tim Hortons is Canada’s most iconic coffee chain, with its well-loved Original Blend coffee, Timbits — Tim Hortons’ signature bite-sized globes of dough — and donuts.

We got a sneak peek of its new concept, Tims Signature — an elevated coffeehouse with unique brewing experiences — at 313@Somerset, ahead of its official launch tomorrow, August 30.

The first of its kind, Tims Signature boasts a sleek coffee craft bar, where you can enjoy a fresh cup of joe, with a choice of three different brewing methods. It also features a whole host of exclusive brand-new menu items, such as pasta bakes and donut flavours.

Located across from Marche on the first floor of 313 Somerset, Tims Signature sports an expansive seating area, with elegant and dark, panelled walls for a stark contrast against its signature bright red logo. It’s outfitted with plush sofas and chairs, creating a warm and cosy environment to enjoy a cuppa or two.

Exclusive brews at Tims Signature

If you’re a coffee connoisseur, you’ll want to go for its single-origin brews, sourced from either Colombia or Mexico.

Choose from the Kyoto drip (S$7.50), V60 pour over (S$7) or Chemex pour over (S$7) — each brewing method will give you a different coffee profile and flavour.

For those who enjoy a bright, citrusy flavour, the V60 pour over employs Tims Signature’s single-origin Colombian beans, which also has a slightly sweet, caramel aftertaste.

You could go for the Chemex pour over, which has hints of nutty and fruity notes from the single origin Mexican light roast. It is also less acidic than its Colombian counterpart, with a light body that makes for easy drinking.

These fresh brews are best enjoyed while seated at the craft bar, where you can chat with Tims Signature’s baristas as they make your cuppa. You’ll also be brought through an elaborate tasting experience — first, take a big whiff of the aromatic coffee, and second, take a slow sip of your chosen brew to appreciate its flavour.

If you’re more of an iced coffee drinker, go for its Kyoto drip, which sees cold water slowly dripped over coffee grounds — a process that takes seven hours per brew!

It uses the same single-origin Colombian beans as the V60, but has a slightly different taste — smooth and easy to drink with light floral notes.

There’s also a range of food options for you to enjoy, so non-coffee drinkers aren’t left out, either.

Its newly introduced pasta bakes come in piping hot ceramic bowls with big cheesy pulls. There’s a few variations: Truffle smoked chicken carbonara (S$10.90), pesto chicken & mozzarella (S$10.90) and beef ragu bolognese (S$10.90). You could also go for its vegetarian option, the classic aglio olio pasta bake (S$9.90).

At Tims Signature, go for its well-loved donuts with two exclusive flavours — maple crumble apple fritter (S$4.90) and Belgian chocolate cruller (S$4.90), slathered with a decadent layer of maple crumble and Belgian dark chocolate respectively. A cruller is a deep fried pastry that is made by folding and twisting the dough twice over to give its signature shape.

Both donuts are elevated versions of the popular plain apple fritter (S$3.50) and honey cruller (S$4) that are available at all Tim Hortons stores.

Familiar Tim Hortons classics will also be available, such as its maple cinnamon latte (from S$7) and its maple French vanilla iced Capp (from S$7).
