Subway celebrates 60th anniversary with all-new laksa pesto sub and S$6 signature subs
As Singapore counts down to its 60th birthday, another popular name is also marking a major milestone — Subway is turning 60, too!
To mark the occasion, the sandwich giant is rolling out a three-month-long fiesta that’s packed with local, nostalgic flavours, and special deals, kicking off today (July 23).
Headlining the celebration is a limited-time, brand-new laksa pesto sub (from S$9.50) — a bold take on the timeless, local laksa dish.
This hearty creation features tender chicken thigh marinated in a housemade laksa pesto sauce, paired with a whole hard-boiled egg, and a lavish slather of the same sauce.
It’s more pesto than it is laksa, which explains its hue — in case you’re expecting to see a splash of creamy red sauce in your sub.
It’s a toned-down take on the spicy classic, which makes it approachable for those who can’t take spice well — yet, still creamy and umami-rich to tickle your laksa cravings.
Also making a return is the pandan cookie, which was first introduced in 2021. It’s back as part of the cookie meal (S$10.90) that comes with a six-inch sub, and a 16oz drink.
As with all classic Subway cookies, this variation is soft, yet chewy. It’s laced with subtle pandan flavour and bits of toasted coconut flakes for extra fragrance.
Prefer to share the calories? There’s the SG60 laksa Kaki meal for two (S$19.90), which includes two six-inch laksa pesto subs, two 16oz drinks, and two pandan cookies.
For an extra sweet twist, Subway is teaming up with Uncle Chieng’s ice cream cart for a three-day-only pop-up to give away free Subway pandan cookie ice cream sandwiches!
But rather than the regular waffle biscuit, classic raspberry ripple ice cream is nestled between two halves of a Subway’s pandan cookie.
Redemption is limited to one cookie per person and you can get your hands on it at these locations:
- July 26, from 11am to 5pm, at 313@Somerset outside H&M
- July 30, from 11.30am to 2.30pm, at Raffles Green
- August 9, from 11am to 5pm, at 313@Somerset outside H&M
S$6 six-inch subs in this economy? Say less
Hold up, that’s not all: We hear that August brings surprise voucher drops and redemptions, so you’d want to keep your eyes peeled for Subway Singapore’s Instagram for more updates.
But the party doesn’t end there: In September, Subway will also be rolling out its crowd-favourite signature six-inch subs at just S$6 on every Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm, at all of its outlets.
These include the smoky BBQ beef brisket (U.P. S$10.50), avo caesar chicken (U.P. S$9.50), beef & mushroom Melt (U.P. S$10.90), fiery Mexican chicken (U.P. S$9.20), and chicken & mushroom Melt (U.P. S$9.50).
So if it’s been a while since your last visit to Subway, now’s the perfect time to head down!
