Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke now open at Millenia Walk, with new outlet-exclusives

Looking for a new spot to get your protein fix in? Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke at Bugis+ has just opened a second outlet at Millenia Walk.

If you work nearby or frequent the mall, which is located right by Promenade MRT station, this new opening is not only another no-frills spot to add to your lunch or dinner rotation, it’s a pretty solid option at that, too.

The Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke concept was first launched in 2024, by the Keisuke Group, known and loved for its affordable and reliable Japanese concepts.

It focuses on comforting rice bowls built around its signature custardy scrambled eggs, paired with Japanese rice and a variety of toppings.

The Keisuke Group has several other concepts in Singapore, spread across 14 locations. You might recognise some, such as Tonkotsu King, Hamburg Steak, and Grilled Fish Keisuke, which opened late last year.

Following the concept’s initial success at Bugis+, the group has now brought it to Millenia Walk.

Located on the mall’s second-floor linkway, the new outlet is relatively small and cosy, with a handful of booth seats. 

If you’re dropping by during peak hours, takeaway might be the better option, or if it’s possible, opt to come during off-peak hours, for a more comfortable dining experience. 

Digging into Keisuke’s creamy scrambled egg rice 

Prices remain the same as with its Bugis+ outlet, though there are some menu additions.

If you’ve yet to visit the concept, Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke’s main offering is its scrambled plain egg rice (S$7.90), which features koshihikari rice topped with creamy, runny scrambled eggs. 

Here, you can customise your bowl by first opting for your desired portion size — it comes in small (100g), regular (200g), or large (300g) portions, all for S$7.90 flat. 

You then decide on your toppings, available at varying price tags, building the bowl according to your preference and appetite.

While a bowl of rice and eggs sounds simple, it’s no easy feat getting the eggs to that soft, silky consistency bowl after bowl — you can also see the team skillfully whipping this up thanks to its semi-open-concept kitchen . 

Taste wise, the egg is rich, buttery, and lightly seasoned to let its natural flavour shine. Paired with the fluffy rice, it is indulgent but still balanced, with a light and airy finish that keeps each bite from feeling too heavy,

Similar to its signature menu offerings, its range of toppings from the Bugis+ outlet — which include atsugiri ham cutlet (S$3.90) and the pork yakiniku (S$3.90)  — are also available here.

We tried the buta kakuni (braised pork belly, S$3.90), which came coated in a sweet-savoury sauce — it’s soft, flavourful, and pairs really well with the egg rice.

There’s also the aburi mentaiko cheese (S$3.90), which is essentially torched marinated cod roe and a sprinkle of cheese. 

The cod roe is fairly generous and rich, while the cheese takes more of a backseat here and doesn’t quite come through as distinctly. Get it only if you’re a big mentaiko fan and enjoy that extra hit of umami.

Of the three classic toppings on the menu, we enjoyed the crab cream croquette (S$3.90) the most — it delivers on texture, with a crispy exterior and creamy filling, though it is more creamy than crustacean-forward, with only a subtle crab flavour coming through.

What’s new at Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke at Millenia Walk

If you’re a fan of the previous outlet and wondering if there are new items to look out for, you’re in luck — there are three new toppings exclusive to this outlet.

There’s the salmon cream stew (S$3.90), which features a small piece of salmon in a creamy rich, comforting stew, all of which comes together nicely, and serves as a robust boost to your egg rice.

Other additions include the deep-fried prawn with tar tar sauce (S$3.90 per piece) and pumpkin croquette (S$3.90 per peice). 

The deep-fried prawn is fairly standard, not straying too far from what you’d expect of a typical ebi (prawn) fry. 

The pumpkin croquette stood out more for us, with its contrasting textures and slight sweetness, which complemented the savoury rice bowl well.

That said, these toppings do feel a little pricey considering that you’re paying S$3.90 for a single piece, which is more than half the price of its regular bowl. 

However, if you’re the sort who loves ordering more for the table, and sprucing up your rice bowls with more ingredients, then these might be worth getting.

The side dishes are also a new overall menu addition, not previously available at Bugis+, and are exclusive to the Millenia Walk outlet.

Choices include wanton soup (S$1), five gyoza (S$5.90 for five pieces), or a mini shoyu ramen (S$5.90) if you’re still feeling peckish.

Unlike the Bugis+ outlet, however, the rice bowls here don’t come with miso soup, so you might want to add the wanton soup if you prefer having something warm and soupy with your meal.

The wanton soup, which came with three wantons, was a standout for us, with the highlight being its broth — it was rich, flavourful, and something I found myself going back to spoon after spoon till the bowl was wiped clean. 

Meanwhile, the gyozas are perfect for sharing — well-executed and best enjoyed with the accompanying chilli dip.

It’s clear that Scrambled Egg Rice Keisuke is great at dishing up wallet-friendly, comforting bowls of rice, as it’s proven with its first outlet.  

With a handful of robust, new offerings at this new Millenia Walk outlet, it looks set to become a new work lunch favourite for those who work nearby. And it’s great for protein gains, too!
