Who doesn’t love beer? If you enjoy booze, chances are you probably enjoy kicking back with an ice-cold pint — basically heaven in our oft-scorching climate.

But you know what’s better than one pint? A whole assortment of beers — over 600 kinds of beer, to be precise — for you to taste at Beerfest Asia 2024.

That’s right, the popular Beerfest Asia is returning for 2024!

For those unfamiliar, the event is best known as Asia’s biggest beer festival and dates back as far as 2009. Festival regulars will know that it guarantees a night filled with good beer, good food and plenty of live music to groove to.

Guests are guaranteed a good time as they are treated to an ensemble of the biggest names in the beer scene including Smith Street Taps, American Taproom, Young Master Ales, Chang Beer, and more.

Conor McGregor made a stout

If you’re a stout lover, Forged Irish Stout might be something worth checking out at Beerfest Asia 2024.

We all know the toasty style of dark beer is basically synonymous with Ireland, but Forged Irish Stout has an extra interesting background.

This new brand is started by one of the most notorious Irish lads of all time, MMA multi-time world-champion and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Forged Irish Stout has been in production since late 2020, but its international launch only came in 2023. In typical McGregor fashion, the brand markets itself as “the world’s creamiest stout”.

We reckon that’s enough reason for beer lovers to check it out and see whether it lives up to its braggadocious claim.

Moutai and beer had a baby

For something drastically different, we have local indie brewery Rye & Pint coming up with an exciting concoction: The Fortune Blossom.

This is a special collaboration between Rye & Pint and Moutai. It promises to marry the robust and complex profile of Moutai with crisp florals and citrus zest.

Connoisseurs would probably have heard of the style of baijiu (Chinese colourless liquor) that has steadily increased in popularity over the years, with some bottles costing upwards of S$600 per bottle.

The new brew will be launched at the Beerfest Asia 2024, which means it’s something that adventurous beer lovers can look forward to trying for the first time.

Decadent grub to pair with beer

Food at big festivals can often be hit-and-miss but the food sitch at Beerfest Asia 2024 is shaping up nicely with GrabFood Dine Out as the official dine-in partner.

Guests can look forward to over 15 different food options at the festival.

You don’t have to settle for just random finger food; the food vendor selection includes some brands that we think make the perfect grub to pair with beer.

For example, popular burger joint NBCB will be selling its decadent beef-patty-based NBCB (S$12.90) and fried-chicken-based CCB (S$9.90), which we suspect would make some tipsy guests very satisfied.

In case anyone is craving something extra heavy to go with their stouts, there’s also Smokey’s BBQ, a Texas-style barbecue outfit at Joo Chiat that will be dishing out smoky US Prime beef brisket, sliced (S$15) and pulled pork sandwiches (S$12).

You definitely won’t find yourself starving from a lack of options here!

Classic Timbre-style serenading

You know what goes best with beer? Rock ‘n’ roll. Lots of it. And that’s exactly what the festival has planned.

So you know how when we talk about live music in Singapore, the conversation will almost certainly land on Timbre and its stable of classic live-music hotspots?

Well, if you didn’t know, Timbre is one of the co-owners of the Beerfest brand, so you can expect your ears to be pampered while at Beerfest Asia 2024!

The event has already announced a lineup of exciting tribute bands that will serenade the crowd with tunes from the most iconic bands such as U2, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Grunge Legends, ABBA and AC/DC and more!

There will be more to follow, including local bands.

Beer and good live music? Sounds like a hell of a time — we’re sure it won’t be hard to convince your music lover friends to tag along too! Get your ticket here.
