Legendary macaron king Pierre Herme Paris opens in Singapore with world’s-first BBT collection & ice cream bar

Paris has its reputation as the world capital of pastries and sweets. If you want to get the best croissants, Paris is probably up there. And if you want the best macarons, Pierre Herme Paris is definitely going to be on the list.

Pierre Herme, the maestro behind the brand, knows that a hop over to Paris for some sweets is out of reach for most, and has decided to treat the Southeast Asian crowd by opening its first SEA flagship in Singapore.

He had formerly been crowned the World’s Best Pastry Chef and has also been bestowed upon the nickname “Picasso of Pastry” by some.

Slated to open on Aug 1, the Pierre Herme Paris Singapore outlet will be located in Resorts World Sentosa’s new lifestyle destination Weave and it’s quite the spectacle.

This multi-concept establishment doesn’t just house a patisserie.

Instead, it also boasts other highlights, including a Pierre Herme Paris ice cream bar and bubble tea collection, both world-firsts for the brand.

Table by Pierre Herme will be the cherry on top — a full-service restaurant that’s also located within the building!

Basically, Singapore is now home to the biggest and most holistic Pierre Herme Paris experience in the world.

The highlight at Pierre Herme Paris’ Singapore home is unquestionably the macaron king’s world-famous macarons (from S$4 per piece).

At the shop, you’ll be treated to a medley of vibrant colours and flavours, ranging from all-time signatures such as the Mogador (passion fruit and milk chocolate) and Ispahan (rose, raspberry and lychee) — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

It also features a fete of interesting flavour profiles such as the Veloute Infiniment Fraise (yoghurt and strawberries) and Indulgence (peas and mint).

If you’re wondering if the legendary macarons live up to the hype, these babies from Pierre Herme Paris might be some of the best macarons we’ve tasted.

The shell is angelically light, delicate and breaks apart gracefully, while the centre is gently chewy — a sumptuous symphony of textures.

If there’s one you need to try, it’s definitely the Ispahan, where the dainty rose notes blend harmoniously with the lychee tanginess in a way that’s elegant and delightful, but not at all cloying.

The range here extends far beyond macarons — Pierre Herme Paris also offers plenty of pastries at its Singapore outlet.

Pastries are priced from S$3.50 and cakes are priced from S$9.

The selection includes all the classic viennoiseries such as croissant and pain au chocolat, along with more intricate tarts and entremets.

Two non-macaron creations on the Pierre Herme Paris Singapore menu that really spoke to us were the Tarte Infiniment Vanille and Plaisir Sucre.

The former is so rich and chock-full of luxurious vanilla fragrance, while the latter is an indulgently chocolatey and hazelnut-forward treat that’s like an atas Ferrero Rocher!

Pierre Herme Paris ice cream bar & BBT

What can you find at Pierre Herme Paris’ first-ever ice cream bar?

There’s 16 flavours, including the trinity of signature flavours — Ispahan, Mogador, Infiniment Vanille — in ice-cream form, along with a bunch of unique creations such as yuzu matcha and pistachio strawberry.

Prices start from S$6 for a single scoop of ice cream in a cup, but we also recommend getting the cones, which are made fresh in-house for a S$1 top-up!

If you’re not a cone person, then the iced brioche collection would probably hit the spot — these elevated ice cream sandwiches come with rich toasted brioche buns!

Aside from ice cream, the Singapore outlet also has another world’s first: The Pierre Herme Paris bubble tea collection (S$9).

Pierre Herme Paris knows how infatuated we Asians are with BBT and decided to blend Asian and French flavours together into this collection.

It comes with ingredients such as infused tapioca pearls and flavoured milks.

Besides the versatile Ispahan, the range also includes the floral Jardin de Pierre and matcha cappuccino — take note, matcha girlies!

For chocolate lovers, there’s also a chocolate bar that is stocked up with chocolate bars and bite-sized bonbons chocolate.

Rounding it all off is Table by Pierre Herme, a sit-down restaurant space located on the second floor. Not only can you get a slew of elevated desserts here, but there’s also savoury grub to be enjoyed!

As expected from its Parisian origin, there’ll be loads of French influences in the dishes.

Looking for something hearty? The crunchy and decadent croque-monsieur Pierre Herme Paris (S$21) will hit the spot, although the savoury waffle with smoked salmon (S$12) is also something to look out for if you’re visiting during breakfast hours (9am to 11am).

If you can’t get enough of the maestro’s Ispahan, you can also get a taste of it in savoury form, with the Ispahan sea bream ceviche (S$18)!

If you ever need a good reason to return to Sentosa, the new Pierre Herme Paris might just be enough of a reason to plan a trip to the beach.

This was a hosted tasting.
