McDonald’s Singapore launches collaboration with Old Chang Kee for National Day
McDonald’s Singapore has been making it an yearly practice to collaborate with a beloved local brand for National Day. This year, it’s collaborating with Old Chang Kee to bring you a nostalgic menu ahead of SG61.
The curry-puff specialist has played a pivotal role in many Singaporeans’ childhoods, with its signature snacks and bites that have become a nationwide comfort food. It was founded in 1956, so it’s also celebrating its 70th anniversary this year!
The menu launches officially on Thursday (July 9), but McDonald’s Singapore will be keeping the goodies spread out over the next few weeks.
First, we’ll be getting the all-new curry potato chicken burger, curry McShaker fries and pineapple coconut pie available from July 9, at 11am. Meanwhile, the rendang curry beef burger launches from July 23, at 11am.

What to expect from the collection
The star of this collection is most definitely the curry potato chicken burger (from S$9.20) — all the things we love about an old-school curry puff infused into a burger.

While it might sound weird, the burger evokes a surprising sense of comfort, bringing together familiar flavours that McDonald’s and Old Chang Kee have supplied us with for generations.
Expect two fluffy potato buns encasing a fried chicken patty, a fried egg, and that familiar spiced curry-potato mix that’s synonymous with Old Chang Kee’s curry puffs — all stacked into one bite.

Also joining the burger lineup is the spicier, saucier rendang curry beef burger (from S$9.50).
The sauce boasts an aromatic and savoury rempah (spice paste), slathered upon McDonald’s signature beef patty with fresh onions, to add some freshness to the decadent burger.
The spice is more of a slow build that will have your lips tingling by the time you’ve polished it all off.

McShaker fries fans are in for a treat — Old Chang Kee is bringing its signature curry flavours to McDonald’s crispy golden fries.
Upgrade your meal with curry McShaker fries (extra S$1.25) for an added smoky, sweet-salty touch to your fries, to complete the full curry experience.
The dessert menu also sees a new addition and returning favourites.

You’ll find a mix of sweet pineapple and creamy coconut filling within the pineapple coconut pie (from S$1.80) — a true marriage of two local dessert flavours in one crispy McDonald’s pie.

We also see the return of the chewy sweet potato mochi balls (from S$2.05 for four pieces) and the refreshing mango soft-serve (from S$1.30).
