A closer look at the nine new bowls
The brand is also launching its nine bowls exclusively at nine outlets: AMK Hub, BreadTalk HQ, Chinatown Point, Jewel Changi Airport, Novena Square 2, Suntec City, The Linq @ Beauty World, VivoCity, and Wheelock Place.

The Super kaisendon (S$29.90) is a premium option including shredded crabmeat, whole abalone, salmon, tuna, scallops and ikura. It’s packed with a colourful assortment of seafood, making it a great choice for those who want a little bit of everything.

The Ultimate negitoro don (S$26.90) stood out. Inspired by the viral Tsujihan kaisendon, the bowl features a generous mound of finely chopped tuna belly (negitoro) crowned with ikura over a bed of Japanese rice.
The negitoro is rich, creamy, and almost melt-in-your-mouth. It’s a simple combination, but one that showcases the quality of the fish.
Prefer something more classic? The Kei signature chirashi is a crowd-pleasing option that comes loaded with cubes of salmon, tuna, and mekajiki (swordfish), alongside baby scallops and ikura. It’s also available in four sizes — mini (S$9.90), small (S$14.90), regular (S$18.90), and large (S$22.90).

We tried the mini but found the portion a little too petite to be satisfying. Unless you’re a particularly light eater, we’d recommend going for at least the small, if you’re reasonably hungry.

One highlight is the una tama don (S$25.90), which features grilled unagi served over Kei Kaisendon’s signature truffle magic rice.

The truffle rice is topped with kombu furikake and tobiko, adding extra savoury depth and bursts of texture to every bite. Paired with the tender, sweet-savoury unagi, the combination was both comforting and satisfying, with the truffle fragrance subtly tying everything together.
This truffle option is available as a S$1.90 add-on for other bowls, too!

This one particularly caught my eye for its vibrant colours and elegant presentation — the bara hotate & salmon (S$28.90), an indulgent bowl featuring bara-style salmon and hotate (scallops). Here, the seafood is carefully arranged into rose-like shapes, a playful nod to the word “bara”, which means rose in Japanese. Beyond looking pretty, the bowl delivers on flavour, too, with the sweetness of the scallops pairing well with the rich, buttery salmon.
If you’re eyeing the one-for-one promotion, we’d say it’s well worth taking advantage of — especially if you’re craving a satisfying chirashi bowl and have a buddy to share the deal with!
This was a hosted tasting.
