Jumbo Group launches Jumbo Premium in Singapore, at new Weave lifestyle complex at Sentosa

Eagle-eyed Jumbo fans may have spotted a new brand under the group at Sentosa’s new Weave complex a few months back.

Jumbo Premium is Jumbo Group’s newest concept, the first to carry this moniker and also the group’s seventh Jumbo Seafood outlet in Singapore.

Located prominently at level B1, where most guests would enter the island or the RWS compound from, this spacious 140-seater outlet is quite unlike its previous few.

For those wondering how this new concept and Jumbo Signatures at Marina Bay Sands — positioned as the brand’s flagship premium restaurant — might be different, we were just as curious.

According to a spokesperson, the new Jumbo Premium celebrates the brand’s seafood dishes, but complements it with specially crafted dim sum, many of which are unique to the concept. (The only other Jumbo restaurant that serves dim sum is its outpost at Ion Orchard!)

Meanwhile, Jumbo Signatures curates iconic flavours into elevated a la carte and tasting menus, with wine pairings. It’s positioned as being equal parts refined, while being “approachable and family-friendly”.

Jumbo Premium’s dim sum menu is available from 9am to 5pm, while the a la carte menu is served from 11.30am to 10pm.

Of its new dim sum offerings, we got to try the Red Ruby dumplings with fresh mushrooms and black truffle (S$6.80 for three) and the pan-fried iberico pork buns (S$8.80 for three).

The former is eye-catching, with its tomato-like appearance — almost too cute to eat, in fact. The dumpling skin is chewy, but thin enough that it’s easy to bite into, while the interior is a mish-mash of fragrant, truffle-infused mushroom and zucchini mince.

The pork buns are another one for the ‘gram, with its yin-yang look. The buns were fluffy and the insides brimming with a sweet-savoury pork filling.

All of its new morsels were dangerously addictive, but we stopped ourselves from inhaling them all — we had plans for a full-fledged meal at the neighbouring Xing Yue Xuan (also another new Jumbo Group concept).

Other new and exclusive little bites you can expect are the beef tripe in satay sauce (S$16.80), BBQ pork buns with oyster sauce (S$6.80 for three), and red rice rolls with prawns and crispy rice Net (S$9.80).

With the dim sum menu overlapping into lunch hour, you can also look forward to enjoying its crab and seafood mains with your dim sum.

Some highlights include its well-loved, award-winning chilli crab (price depending on choice of live crab), as well as a refreshed version of its favourite asparagus sauteed with black truffle sauce and scallop (from S$38). The latter is also an outlet-exclusive at Jumbo Premium.

Given its proximity to tourist attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and the refreshed Singapore Oceanarium, those looking to bring home a piece of Singapore can also purchase items such as its Singapore chilli crab paste (S$8.60) and Teochew style bak kut teh spice (S$9.90).

This was a hosted tasting.
