Indulge your palates in sweet — but healthy — treats at the new Cocobella Lifebar, a beach-themed oasis at One Holland Village.

For those who are unfamiliar, Cocobella is a popular Australian coconut water and dairy-free coconut yoghurt brand. It prides itself on its sustainably sourced pure coconut water, dairy-free products and 100% natural flavours.

This marks Cocobella’s first retail and dine-in store in Singapore. (You might have previously seen Cocobella’s products at NTUC Fairprice.)

Healthy indulgences at Cocobella Lifebar

If you’re looking to increase your protein intake, go for the choc powder protein smoothie (from S$9), which includes 25g of protein.

This definitely fills you up — perfect as a nourishing beverage on-the-go or on an empty stomach.

Its full-bodied with nutty notes from the soy protein and raw cashews and a slight sweetness from the inclusion of medjool dates, bananas and coconut cream.

This thick and decadent concoction has a strong cocoa flavour and slightly bitter aftertaste — you’ll enjoy it if you love dark chocolate. It’s the kind of drink that grows on you with every sip!

Looking for something more refreshing? Head straight for Cocobella Lifebar’s Coco Clouds series, made with coconut water, coconut foam and your choice of coffee or tea.

We chose the matcha Cloud (from S$7), a visual delight featuring a sage-green matcha tea foam floating atop, true to its namesake.

The matcha is smooth and light, without any of the bitterness you might normally find in matcha drinks. The coconut water and foam adds a fruity layer to the underlying matcha flavour to create a well-balanced and pleasantly mild drink.

The matcha-coconut combination might not be for everyone, though.

If you’re more of a dessert-eater than a beverage-drinker, try the nut butter acai (from S$11) for another guilt-free indulgence.

The dessert is made with acai protein frozen yoghurt (contains 10g of protein), paired with simple toppings — bananas, strawberries, coconut granola bits, and chunky peanut butter — which allow the acai base to shine on its own.

The acai isn’t overly sweet or sour and does the trick if you’re looking for something refreshing. It gives you a kind of satisfaction that only comes when your acai is perfectly smooth and chilled just right — not too runny or too frozen. (Acai folks, you know what I’m talking about!)

I’m usually a cookie-butter acai girl, but I liked how the peanut butter lent a slightly salty profile to the otherwise light dessert.

For those who haven’t bought into the acai craze, the apple crumble froyo bowl (from S$7), is a great option for a healthy and delicious spin on the traditional apple crumble.

This was our pick of the day — it was incredibly addictive, with well balanced flavours to satisfy our taste buds.

The vanilla froyo is light, sweet and paired well with the tartness of the apple puree and the fragrant lotus biscoff crumbs. I am definitely coming back for seconds!

If you’re not a fan of yoghurt, you can opt for Cocobella’s Straight Up coconut water or flavoured coconut water instead — it comes in watermelon and chocolate (S$5).

Despite its recent launch in May, Cocobella Lifebar has already drawn an eager crowd of cafe goers looking for a place to study or work during the day. We’d recommend going early if you’d like to secure a table for a cosy work session!

This was a hosted tasting.
