March holidays 2026: 7 events to have fun and munch at with the kids!

Celestine Tan | March 11, 2026

It seemed like Chinese New Year was just yesterday, but we’re now well into the thick of March, with the school holidays nearly upon us — it begins this Friday (March 13) and runs all the way till March 22 (Sunday)

You know how the adage goes: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so if you’re a parent who’s been wanting to plan a day out with the kids, we think now’s the perfect time to head out for some fun!

But what’s good is fun without some delicious food along the way? As foodies, you best believe we’ve got our eyes on events with a good amount of F&B options, too!

If you’re a parent who’s been looking for fun events, with things to see, do, and eat, this March holidays, here’s our list of activities that’ll keep everyone happily entertained and well fed.

1. Armenian Street Party: A Peranakan Gathering

Dive into Singapore’s Peranakan heritage at the Armenian Street Party: A Peranakan Gathering, from March 13 to 15, at the Peranakan Museum, right at the start of the school holidays. You can expect to experience the colourful sights and bustling sounds of Peranakan traditions through various captivating installations and interactive experiences involving culture, music, and art.

It’s free to join and most of the experiences are also similarly complimentary, though seating is limited for some of them. A few experiences do also require a small fee, which is claimable through the SG Culture Pass, so it’s practically free, too, we suppose!

The best part is that you can also savour local delights, including Peranakan food, along the way, too! Grab some nibbles from the O’My Darling Food Truck by everyone’s favourite Old Chang Kee featuring local bites, and Sweet Spot, a traditional dessert pop-up.

If you want a fuss-free dining experience, join the Kueh & Kopi: A Kueh Picnic! on March 14. For S$38, you’ll get to enjoy a picnic set with a box of fragrant kueh, a special drink, and exclusive merchandise from the Peranakan Museum.

Even if you don’t feel like munching on anything, you’ll still be able to catch a glimpse of Peranakan fare through the various live cooking demonstrations each night by community chefs, such as Shirley Tay, who is an established Nyonya chef and has even appeared on a Mediacorp cooking drama series!

2. Music in the Meadow at Gardens by the Bay

Enjoy an evening of live orchestral music in a beautiful outdoor garden setting at Music in the Meadow, a free community concert organised by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, happening this Sunday (March 14). Bring your picnic mats and relax as the sun sets, while talented musicians serenade the crowd with Singapore’s spectacular city skyline as the backdrop.

Admission is completely free, and even pets are welcome as long as owners abide by the visiting guidelines at Gardens by the Bay.

If you’re able to, come earlier at 4pm to join in the pre-show activities — there’ll be balloon sculpting, glitter tattoos, and a bubble artist, too! There will also be opportunities to try out different orchestral instruments at the instrument petting zoo across two sessions, at 4pm and 5pm.

Fret not if you find yourself not being able to prepare a picnic basket for the occasion. There are food and drinks available for sale onsite — including a selection of crowd-pleasing bites such as burgers, hotdogs, nachos, and popsicles!

3. Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar

Singaporeans are no stranger to the iconic Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, Singapore’s largest Hari Raya food festival. It runs till March 21 this year, which means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to visit the bustling bazaar during the March school holidays.

Be ready to soak in the vibrant night market atmosphere, with plenty of entertainment, shopping, and food to explore. There are some 150 food and beverage stalls that serve everything from traditional Malay delights such as satay, murtabak, keropok lekor, and ramly burgers, to modern fusion snacks and trendy, Instagram-worthy street food and drinks.

Some viral eats at the bazaar this year include quesillo venezolano, a rich Venezuelan caramel custard dessert that has gone viral for its novelty, as well as croissant tarik, an indulgent pull-apart croissant generously topped with your flavour of choice.

Food prices vary across stalls, with prices ranging from S$10 to S$20, while drinks might cost between S$5 and S$8. (Psst, you can use Grab Dine Out to enjoy a 5% discount on your bill at selected stalls, too!)

4. Lime Restaurant at Parkroyal Collection Pickering — Kids dine free!

Give yourself and your little ones a sumptuous buffet treat at Lime Restaurant this March school holidays — because children aged 12 years old and below get dine for free during lunch, and during weekend afternoon tea (limited to one child per full-paying adult)!

Prices start from S$58 for a weekday buffet lunch for adults, and go up to S$88 for adults for weekend lunch or afternoon tea, so if you’re a parent that loves good food, this would be a great and wallet-friendly way to spend quality time together with your child!

Located at the Parkroyal Collection Pickering hotel, a stone’s throw from Chinatown MRT station Lime Restaurant’s international buffet is well-loved for its wide variety of fresh and high-quality dishes. This March is no different — diners can look forward to a line-up of ocean-fresh treasures alongside comforting favourites that appeal to both young and adult diners.

Kid-friendly highlights include garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, KL-style seafood tai lok mee, and truffle cream parmesan wheel pasta, alongside premium crowd favourites like the signature beef rendang, wok fried lala in collagen broth, and sous vide roast angus beef. End your meal on a sweet note with a delightful array of cakes and pastries, plus the ever-popular chocolate Fountain that kids will absolutely adore.

It’s only taking place from March 14 to 22, which isn’t a lot of time, so we’d secure seats on Lime Restaurant’s website soon before heading down, if we were you!

5. Sentosa Beach Fest

If sun, sand, and sea is what your family loves, then the inaugural Sentosa Beach Fest, at Siloso Beach, might just be the perfect March holiday event for you and your family.  The festival takes place from March 14 to 22 and admission to the event is free, though selected activities, such as fitness classes for the adults, are ticketed

It’s said to be Singapore’s very first beach fitness festival, with five action-packed zones to explore. Expect fitness challenges, beach sports and wellness sessions, with family-friendly activities such a giant inflatable play course, and food stalls to fuel up at, too. There’ll be something for everyone — whether you’re up for a physical challenge or you’re here just to relax by the water.

We can already see the “Refuel” zone being one of our favourite areas of the festival, because that’s where you’ll find all the food and drinks, and even a beer garden! There’s a solid lineup of vendors, including fun waffles concept Breadfast Everyday, craft beer experts Glugland, and SOHTT, known for dishing out ‘gram-worthy, yummy snacks at festivals.

There’re so many things to see, do, and eat, so we think it’s worth a visit, especially if you’ve got a whole day to spare!

6. Seaside Pony & Picnic Experience at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa

Chinese New Year celebrations for the Year of the Horse might have just ended but you can still get your dose of horses at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, with its Seaside Pony and Picnic Experience, crafted specially for families, taking place between March 13 to 22.

The experience, which is available for stays with a minimum of two consecutive nights (from US$338 or S$430, a night), includes daily breakfast at the hotel’s Silver Shell Cafe, a one-hour pony experience per stay for children aged three to 12 years old, and a family picnic set featuring savoury sandwiches, cakes, and tarts. The picnic set also comes with a take-home bag and picnic mat, allowing you to bring a slice of the memories with you long after the experience has ended.

The pony experience — which takes place at 2pm, 3pm, or 4pm daily during this period — includes a horse ride along Sentosa’s scenic beachfront, and little one will also be able to groom and feed the horses, and also learn about basic pony care. This close encounter will surely thrill little animal lovers!

Parents, while you may not be able to ride the ponies, you can still enjoy sea sports such as kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding at the resort’s private beach, as part of the package.

If you’d like to opt into the experience, indicate your desired pony experience timeslot, and when you’d like to have your picnic, under the “Special Request” field when making your hotel booking with Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, or email the team directly.

7. Movies by the Beach at Sentosa

If you prefer something more wallet-friendly and free-free, but still set away from the bustle of busy city life, you’ll want to head to Palawan Kidz City near Palawan Beach for its Movies by the Beach event from March 14 to 22. Expect a good dose of sunset views, sea breeze, and free full-length screenings in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Entry is free, just bring your own picnic mats, find a spot, and settle in for the evening. If you’re the sort that loves being right up in front, you’ll want to come earlier to claim a good viewing spot — who knows, you might even be able to snag one of the beach chairs placed out for the event for some extra comfort.

Films that’ll be screened include family-favourites such as Charlotte’s Web (March 15), Wicked (March 21), and How to Train Your Dragon (March 22).

While there are no food stalls on the rooftop or at the event, you can grab some nosh at Good Old Days, an air-conditioned halal food court just a short walk away, that sells local fare. Prefer dining while you watch your movie? You can grab food to go, too. Here’s a tip: If you purchase F&B vouchers to use at Good Old Days ahead of the event, you can enjoy 10% off during your online checkout.
