10 fun kid-friendly food things to do with the kids in Singapore

Celestine Tan | December 16, 2025

We’re midway through the year-end school holidays and if you’re a parent or caregiver who has run out of ideas on fun things to do with your kids, this one’s for you.

Besides just looking at places to play, why not consider family-oriented dining spots that are fun, playful, and creative, turning meal time into a mini adventure?

Not only will kids get to get their hands dirty (in a good way!) with food-related hands-on activities, they also get to enjoy the fruits of their labour by digging into them after.

As a parent, I’m also always looking for things to do with my kids, so because sharing is caring, here are 10 fun kid-friendly dining experiences in Singapore that promise not just good food, but also great memories and big smiles for the whole family:

1. Dough it Yourself

What is it? Dough it Yourself is great for kids who are picky with the toppings on their pizza or pasta, as it essentially provides a buffet of pizza and pasta toppings for you to assemble and customise your own meal.

Take a pick of your favourite carb — hand-stretched pizza dough, various pastas or potato gratin — then dress it up with your sauce, vegetables and proteins of choice. Pile on the cheese and have it sent to the oven. It’s a unique, hands-on concept that the kids are definitely going to enjoy, and we daresay the adults will have some fun, too!

How much? S$29.90 for adults for a 90-minute free-flow DIY pizza or pasta buffet, or S$15 for kids aged 4 to 12 years old. Kids below three dine for free.

If a buffet isn’t your thing, you can also opt for one set of either a pizza or pasta to DIY at S$24.90.

How to book? Head down during its opening hours to get started with your buffet!

2. The Sundowner

What is it? The Sundowner is a quaint little urban farm which conducts intimate garden F&B experiences, such as food and craft workshops for both adults and kids. It’s currently housed on a rooftop in Siglap, but will be moving to the old Bukit Timah Fire Station by the end of the year.

Some kid-friendly experiences here include bean-to-bar chocolate-making, making pasta by hand, pizza-making, and even ice-cream-making.

How much? The various F&B experiences here start from S$95 per person, but it promises good value and food, too!

For example, its honey ice-cream-making workshop (S$110 per person) incorporates education on bees before you get to make ice cream from scratch and create crunchy honeycombs. This experience has even been featured on an episode of a popular kids education show, Blippi — fellow parents, #IYKYK — so we’re pretty sure it’ll be kid-approved.

How to book? These exciting experiences can be booked directly on The Sundowner’s website, where you’ll also find a detailed overview of each activity, along with pricing details and the available dates and timeslots.

3. Pizza Express

What is it? Pizza Express is a global brand specialising in handcrafted pizzas, which currently has four casual-dining outlets in Singapore. To make dining more enjoyable for families, Pizza Express has introduced two fun kid-friendly experiences.

First up, there’s a kids pizza-making workshop where the little ones get to become a pizzaiolo (or a pizza maker), complete with hat and apron, and a certificate at the end of the experience!

The second is a more easy-going activity. Essentially kids will be provided with a pizza DIY kit that can be worked on in the comfort of their own homes, but what’s really special about this is its focus is on family bonding.

Each kit includes a guide that not only walks you through the recipe, but also offers thoughtful conversation prompts to spark meaningful family interactions while cooking together — how lovely and heartwarming!

How much? The pizza-making party (from S$35 per person for a weekday slot) is held at its various outlets. It is available on weekends from 3-5pm, and all day on weekdays, excluding public holidays.

The pizza DIY kit (S$21) includes Pizza Express’ flavourful dough in a pan, a tomato sauce base, and your choice of four different toppings. Put everything together and pop it into the oven. It’s an easy and convenient option for a cosy family pizza night, and also makes for warmth and lasting connections.

How to book? Head over to its reservations page to make your pizza-making party bookings or to reserve your pizza DIY kit, that you can self-collect from your selected outlet at your preferred timeslot.

On the other hand, the chocolate tour & tasting (S$15 per person) is great if you are pressed for time, since it only takes an hour. However, it is more suitable for participants aged 12 and above as younger children cannot enter the workshop space.

The 10-seater restaurant offers a cosy, personal setting where Japanese hospitality and authenticity shine through in every item served.
