Korean dessert fans, here’s something to add to your list in the coming weeks. Yoon Yeon Dang, the popular Korean bakery known for its viral, over-the-top fruit cakes and delicious butter-salt breads, has made its way to Singapore.

You’ll find the pop-up at Suntec City (yes, at the same spot where Bakery 1946 and the Standard Bun pop-up were) from now till October 26, where it’s open daily from 10am to 8pm.

If you’ve been to Korea, Yoon Yeon Dang might already be familiar. The bakery first started in Ulsan City and has since grown to 10 outlets across the country.

It made its name with cakes piled high with over 1kg of fresh fruit, its signature Snowflake cream cake, and of course, its salt-bread line that’s been all over social media.

The good news? You can try them all here at the pop-up.

Salt breads for the win

The plain salt bread (S$4) is the OG and a must-try. Made with Lescure, one of France’s finest butters, this one nails that salty-buttery combo. The crust is crisp, the inside fluffy, and it’s finished with a light sprinkle of salt on top. Simple, but done so well.

The garlic salt bread (S$6.50) was hands-down our favourite. It is generously filled with aromatic garlic butter that soaks into the soft, chewy bread.

Every bite of the garlic salt bread was savoury, rich, and very moreish — we couldn’t get enough of it. This is one we would come back for.

The green onion cream cheese (S$6.50) might surprise you. The spring onion topping is a bit unexpected at first, but the smooth, tangy cream cheese filling makes for a satisfying bite — making this flavour one worth trying.

If you’re a matcha lover, try the matcha cream salt bread (S$7.50). It has a crunchy matcha chocolate shell and a creamy matcha milk filling that is lightly sweet.

For those who prefer something sweeter, the double choco salt bread (S$7.50) is a rich, chocolatey choice, too.

Cakes that have gone viral

Yoon Yeon Dang’s cakes are where things get dramatic.

Of course, we had to try its signature Snowflake cream cake (S$25), which comes covered in Yoon Yeong Dang’s signature fresh cream. Imagine a tiny snow-covered mountain with pillowy soft cake layers and a ton of fresh cream — simple, elegant, and perfect for cream cake fans.

The mango cake (S$70) is quite a showstopper. It is layered with over 1kg of big, sweet, and juicy mangoes alongside fresh milk cream. They really don’t hold back on the fruit, and it tastes every bit as fresh as it looks.

The price point is slightly on the higher side, but it feels justified given the quality and sheer size.

If mango isn’t your thing, go for the assorted fruits cake (S$75). This version also comes loaded with 1kg of fruits — strawberries, Shine Muscat grapes, mangoes, and blueberries — plus that same signature cream that ties it all together.

There’s also coffee and non-coffee drinks on the menu — including foam lattes — but honestly, the cakes and salt breads are the real stars here.

If you’ve been curious about why Yoon Yeon Dang has been all over your feed, this pop-up is worth checking out.

Prices are a little steep, but the quality and freshness make it worth considering — and at the very least, it’s worth a try just to see what all the hype is about.
