Pop Mart opens Pop Bakery at Sentosa serving kawaii character-themed pastries
Are you a blind box fanatic? Then, you would definitely be familiar with lifestyle label Pop Mart and its roster of popular characters, such as Labubu and Twinkle Twinkle.
If you’re a fan of any of these characters, the new Pop Bakery themed cafe at Weave might just be the stuff of your fandom dreams because now you can nibble on pastries modelled after them!
Set to open on July 30 (Thursday), Pop Bakery Singapore is located on the second floor of Pop Mart’s new two-storey Sentosa flagship store, located right beside the popular Pierre Herme Singapore outlet.
Its facade is embellished with the brand’s most beloved characters, including a Labubu perched on the roof.
Pop Bakery Singapore is also quite the quaint, chill spot, with large windows that let in a good amount of daylight, and intricately themed fixtures, such as a large Skullpanda statue that hangs from the ceiling.
While Singapore isn’t the first in the world to get a Pop Bakery — Pop Mart opened its first one in Aranya, China just last month — we get bragging rights as the second in the world, and the first country within Southeast Asia to have one.
There is also a Pop Mart Cafe concept in Bangkok, which opened in late 2025, though this is said to be a fancier dining experience.
Besides bragging rights, did we mention that there are Singapore-exclusive items, too?
Twinkle Twinkle little star
If you’re wondering who or what can you nibble on at Pop Bakery Singapore, the star item here is quite literally its star-themed characters: Twinkle Twinkle.
Twinkle Twinkle fans (like our intern) will relish the fact that there are no shortage of themed items here to order.
The menu has a whole slew of desserts inspired by Pop Mart characters, including fresh pastries, popsicles, and even a retail shop with packaged treats including cookies and chocolates.
We loved the Singapore-exclusive Twinkle Twinkle tangy coconut mousse (S$18). Shaped like a coconut, the dessert features coconut mousse, pineapple filling, and passion fruit popping boba.
The coconut mousse was creamy and fragrant, and pleasantly contrasted by the vibrant tanginess of the pineapple and passion fruit.
There is also the crispy Twinkle Twinkle dreamy banana pastry (S$16), which comes loaded with chocolate ganache and caramelised banana, if you want something richer in flavour.
Those who love their sweet treats cold should grab the Twinkle Twinkle popsicles, such as the Twinkle Twinkle twin popsicles (mango and milk flavour, S$15) and the merlion-shaped Go Around with Twinkle Twinkle (sea salt and coconut flavour, S$15).
The latter is also exclusive to Pop Bakery Singapore, in case its uniquely Singapore design wasn’t telling enough!
And if all of that wasn’t enough or if you are just really, really, really obsessed with Twinkle Twinkle, Pop Bakery Singapore also has meet-and-greet sessions with the character.
A life-sized mascot will appear at the Sentosa store from Thursdays to Mondays, during the following time slots:
- 2pm – 3pm
- 4pm – 5pm
- 6pm – 7pm
The meet-and-greet sessions require some planning ahead, though: You’ll first need to reserve a spot for dining in, and each person needs to spend a minimum of S$40, while each table must spend a minimum of S$80 in a single transaction to qualify.
Other Pop Bakery Singapore exclusives
If you aren’t too big a fan of Twinkle Twinkle, fret not, as there are other character-themed Singapore exclusives, such as the Pucky Xiao Long Bao (S$18), based on the whimsical fairy character.
While it is served in the form of a steamed soup dumpling or xiao long bao on a dim sum basket, it is actually a silky soy milk panna cotta topped with ice cream. We think this will be quite a hit with the soybean or tau huey fans out there.
And, of course, Pop Mart’s all-time favourite icon Labubu makes a cameo, too, at Pop Bakery Singapore.
Labubu fans will be able to get Singapore-exclusive Labubu butter cookies (S$32) in an eye-catching Merlion-themed cookie tin.
There are three flavours, including a coconut flavour that is also exclusive to Pop Bakery Singapore.
