Movida Singapore has new set lunch with mains and tapas from S$29

If you haven’t found the right time or occasion to swing by the popular Spanish concept Movida, which has been on our shores for nearly a year now, let this be your sign.
Hailing from Melbourne, Movida opened its first standalone outlet Singapore in end-July 2024, after achieving much success in Australia on a whole, and in New Zealand, too.

Since it’s a Spanish spot, tapas naturally takes the spotlight here. However Movida’s Singapore outlet also sees some country-exclusives introduced, too, such as the Abalon (S$16), a slow-cooked abalone finished over charcoal.
More recently, Movida Singapore has launched a San Sebastian lunch menu from just S$29, which gives you a main and three tapas.
Considering a main can easily set you back nearly S$30 at a new and trendy restaurant nowadays, paying S$29 for a main and three tapas means those tapas plates are basically free, in #GirlMath terms.

Want more tapas to try? It’s S$35 for four tapas and a main, and S$40 for five tapas and a main.
Available from Monday to Sunday (yes, weekends, too!), from 12pm to 3pm, the lunch set is a great introduction to the variety of tapas and mains served up by Movida Singapore.
When we visited in late-May, the tapas selection for the lunch menu saw some dedicated lunch-only inclusions, and some sneaks from its full menu, such as the anchoa (anchovy with smoked tomato sorbet, S$8) and crab crumpet (S$9).

Of the tapas, we enjoyed the huevas, a simple tapas comprising homemade potato chips with whipped cod roe and marinated mussels, the croqueta del dia (or the croqueta of the day), and the octopus with pancetta, a skewer with grilled octopus and pork belly.
In particular, the proteins were well-marinated and juicy — we could easily have more than three of these!

The tuna tartare with grilled avocado, with a citrus dressing, was also a refreshing tapas choice, if you prefer your bites light.
The mains selection for its daily lunch menu is extensive — you can choose from anything from a paella of the day to a very filling pork belly (additional S$3), with fennel and carrots, or angus beef cheek (additional S$5), in sweet wine sauce with cauliflower puree.
We went all-out Spanish and opted for the gambas al ajillo, which features tender prawns cooked in garlic and chilli, served with mashed potatoes and bread — a hearty main that left us thoroughly stuffed.

While the set lunch is primarily mains and tapas, you can choose to add on a dessert (extra S$8) and choose from churros, flan or rice pudding, and even a drink (extra S$6 for alcohol, S$4 for non-alcoholic ones).
If you’re there for a leisurely lunch, especially on the weekends, a S$6 top-up for its alcoholic options, such as an Aperol spritz, is a small price to pay for what you’re getting.
And if you end up peckish at any point during the meal, feel like you want more tapas, or regret your chosen number of tapas, you can add a tapas any time for just S$6 per piece.
With so much flexibility and options, we just know where we’re headed to for our next afternoon off work.
This was a hosted tasting.
