Hi Hot Pot rolls out affordable festive lunch sets for under S$20 per diner
As the year winds down and the weather turns a little cooler, hot pot naturally becomes the go-to comfort meal — that’s how it is for me, at least.
So it’s pretty good news that Hi Hot Pot has a pretty solid deal running right now.

If you haven’t heard of Hi Hot Pot, it’s Haidilao’s more wallet-friendly concept. You still get the same cosy interiors and familiar vibe, but it runs on a self-service model.

It has just launched a festive lunch promotion that’s available daily — Mondays to Thursdays from 11am to 6pm, and Fridays to Sundays from 11am to 5pm, until December 15.
This festive promotion comes with four different set deals: S$18.90 for one, S$29.90 for two, S$39.90 for three, and S$69.90 for four diners — working out to roughly 50% off its usual prices.
The main difference between each set is the number of dishes you’re allowed to pick from each category.
What’s available
In any hotpot experience, the broth is the real star. Here, you get three broth options: Plain vegetarian tomato, plain vegetarian mushroom, and a classic Sichuan mala.
Do note that each set meal comes with only one choice of soup base.
We managed to sample both the mushroom and mala broths and loved them. The mushroom broth surprised us with how rich and flavourful it was — thick, earthy and comforting — while the mala was exactly what you’d expect: Punchy, numbing and properly spicy.

You get plenty of protein options here, too, with a variety of premium cuts such as USA kurobuta pork, Spanish iberico pork, marinated sliced beef, tender chicken slices, chef’s secret marinated pork tongue, and more.

Besides the meats, Hi Hot Pot’s snacks were easily our second go-to. Think crowd favourites such as golden fried buns (mantou) and golden fried shrimp, plus more interesting bites such as taro-burst sweet potato balls.

Under the classic dishes section, you’ll find the usual hotpot classics: Mung bean noodles, golden enoki mushrooms, hydroponic baby bok choy, and more.
While some of these weren’t our usual hotpot picks, we couldn’t resist trying some more adventurous options, such as crunchy white beef tripe and salted egg fishballs.

Of course, we didn’t skip the staples — there’s premium Wuchang rice, vegetable noodles, instant noodles, and baby noodles. The baby noodles were incredibly silky and left us wanting more, especially when dipped in the mala soup.

If you’re still undecided, here’s one more reason to visit.
For just S$1 more, you get free-flow condiments, hot and chilled drinks — soft drinks, coffee, a tea bar — plus ice jelly for dessert.

The promo is pretty worth it if you’re on the hunt for quality, affordable hot pot — we’d say don’t give this a miss.
