If you’ve never been to El Chido at Pullman Singapore Hill Street, this rooftop bar should be next on your list for good vibes.

If you’ve already been, this is your sign to head back. There are plenty of new updates to check out, from the space to its offerings.

Perhaps the biggest draw is its rooftop infinity pool, which is free for the public to use daily — no hotel booking or entry fee needed.

One of the biggest upgrades is to the space itself. El Chido is now fully weatherproof, with a full canopy across the rooftop and a retractable roof over the dining and bar areas.

Previously, a sudden downpour could put a damper on your plans. Now, visitors can kick back with its skyline views, rain or shine.

The rooftop has also been given a colourful refresh, with Mexican-inspired decor, a hand-painted mural, and more resort-style touches, alongside a rotating lineup of DJs to keep the energy up.

New cocktails to sip on

Of course, there are new drinks to match the revamped space.

The refreshed cocktail menu leans into tequila-forward classics and tropical concoctions that are easy to sip by the pool.

From its new offerings, we tried the spicy margarita (S$24), a bright and zesty mix of tequila, lime, and jalapeno. It packs just enough heat to complement its citrusy notes, making it easy to finish.

If you’re after something more tropical, go for the coconut Affair (S$26), a blend of Bacardi white rum, coconut water, lime, and sugar — served in a whole coconut. It’s light, sweet, and refreshing.

Another standout was the Ay Melon! Berry (S$24), which combines Corona beer, Fords Gin, melon, cranberry, and lime. It has a fruity note with a citrus finish, and carries a stronger kick than the others. It’s certainly enough to keep you coming back for another sip.

If you’re skipping the alcohol, some of the drinks are zero-proof, and are available at S$16 each.

Other cocktail additions to look forward to are the Paloma (S$24), a refreshing mix of Patron Blanco, grapefruit soda, and lime, as well as the long-time Mexican classic Batanga (S$24), made with Codigo Blanco, Coca-Cola, and lime.

In the mood for shots? The new menu includes a lineup of playful shooters. There’s the El Chido Reserve (S$30 for three, S$55 for six), made with Volcan Blanco, lime, triple sec, and red wine with a salt rim, and Espresso Pops (S$30 for three, S$55 for six), which combine Grey Goose vodka, single origin coffee, and coffee liqueur.

On the food front, you’ll also find familiar crowd favourites sticking around, such as the white fish ceviche (S$22), with fresh white fish, pickled sweet potato, capers, lime, and black garlic crema — an appetiser to have on the table for sharing.

The Skyline weekend brunch is a new monthly affair in the works, featuring food, drinks, live music, and collaborations with guest chefs — so stay tuned for that!

This was a hosted tasting.
