Clayful Art Cafe at Orchard: Ceramic pottery date spot with cafe nibbles

If you’re running out of ideas for an activity-packed date with good food and good vibes, there’s a new spot right in the heart of town — Clayful Art Cafe!

By the folks behind Walking on Sunshine, an award-winning Korean hair salon in Singapore, Clayful Art Cafe at Orchard opened back in August and is its latest cafe concept.

Besides offering ceramic pottery and glass painting sessions, Clayful Art Cafe also serves up a selection of food options, including drinks, housemade pastas, pizzas, and desserts — the perfect setting for an eventful date, for sure!

As Singapore’s first and largest pottery painting studio, Clayful Art spans over 3,000 square feet and can seat 80.

Intimate, serene and quaint, the cafe is pretty conducive for quality time with a loved one and is perfect for whiling the afternoon away.

Each studio pass is priced at S$30 per person or S$20 for students with a valid student ID, with  two-hour access and includes all the painting supplies you need.

There’s a selection of over 100 pottery and glassware pieces to choose from — various clay cups, ceramic plates and glass items — with prices ranging from S$8 to S$18.

Food at Clayful Art Cafe

Clayful Art serves up pretty decent nibbles that caters to all ages, too. There’s savoury pasta and pizzas, as well as desserts such as fluffy souffle pancakes and cheesecakes.

If you love thin-crust pizzas — just like we do — you might be keen to try its artisanal pizzas, which include some flavours we don’t often see: Tiger prawn (S$28), truffle kurobuta ham mozzarella (S$24), and bulgogi flank steak (S$24).

Cheese lovers can’t go wrong with the corn cheese pizza (S$19), which is doused with lots of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. As you might expect, the pizza comes with a satisfying cheese pull!

If you can’t choose just one, get the best of both worlds with the mix-and-match option for two pizza flavours in one for just S$30.

If you’re looking for small bites to share, the charcoal makgeolli halloumi cheese slider (S$10 per piece, minimum two to order) is a good option to consider. Comprising halloumi cheese, pickled radish and kimchi puree, it’s a comforting, yet unique combination!

Classic sharing dishes are also available, including truffle fries (S$18), seafood pancake (S$18), and crispy free-range chicken wings (S$16) in Korean soy garlic and yangnyeom sauce.

Or if you’re in the mood for something sweet, desserts such as the kroffle and gelato (S$15) and its signature souffle pancake (S$22) are available, too.

This was an invited tasting.
