Awfully Chocolate’s weekend brunch buffet in Katong gets a refresh with new additions
If you’re a die-hard chocolate fan, but have yet to visit Awfully Chocolate‘s weekend brunch buffet, you’re seriously missing out. The popular all-you-can-eat buffet has been making waves on social media for some time now, and if you’ve already been, here’s a reason to drop by again: There are new bites to try.
Available exclusively at its Katong outlet, the weekend brunch buffet runs every Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, from 10am to 3pm.
Priced at S$38 per person, it’s a pretty decent deal considering the variety on offer — over 25 dishes, desserts and drinks. Children under 10 can enjoy the buffet at half price, for just S$16.
Diners will have 1.5 hours to enjoy the buffet, so it’s worth arriving with an appetite.
The savouries hold their own, too
If you’re under the impression that Awfully Chocolate’s menu revolves solely around sweet treats, you’ll be surprised to find that it offers just as many savoury options.
First, you’ll make your way to the brunch counter, where the buffet works a little differently from the usual self-serve setup. Simply tell the staff what you’d like, and they’ll scoop it onto your plate. You can even let them know how much of each item you’d like.

The spread features familiar breakfast staples such as crispy bacon, smoked chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, and popped tater tots, alongside two new additions: Smoky baked beans and ratatouille — a classic French vegetable stew made with slow-cooked eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers and herbs. Light, yet hearty, it offers a refreshing contrast to the richer breakfast favourites.
Next, make your way to the savoury bakes section. We were honestly overwhelmed — in the best way possible.

Lined across the counter is a colourful spread of freshly baked treats, with standout picks including the pork sausage roll, French onion eclair, ricotta cheese doughnut, cherry tomato cupcake, and cocoa focaccia.
Of course, that’s only scratching the surface. There are plenty more to choose from, so naturally, we ordered one of everything.

One of the new menu additions is the crispy mac & cheese (pork). Despite its name, it doesn’t look anything like your typical mac & cheese. Instead, it’s a golden, deep-fried bite with a crisp exterior that gives way to a rich, cheesy filling. It’s undeniably indulgent, with the savoury pork making it a great pick if you enjoy bolder, richer bites.
Another new addition is the mushroom mille feuille, a flaky, buttery pastry layered with rich mushroom duxelles and finished with a sprinkle of chives. The crisp, golden pastry contrasts beautifully with the deeply savoury mushroom filling, creating a bite that’s earthy, buttery and packed with umami.
Once you’ve loaded up on the savoury dishes, make your way to the yoghurt bar, if you’re after something a little lighter. There are three yoghurt flavours to choose from — vanilla bean, Biscoff and mixed berries. Naturally, we gravitated towards the Biscoff, as it’s not something you come across very often.

This station is self-serve, so you can scoop as much yoghurt as you’d like, before finishing it off with your choice of toppings. The spread includes granola, nuts, dried cranberries, chocolate buttons, and a selection of sauces.
Apart from the buffet spread, every diner is also entitled to one brunch-special main course. This can be pre-ordered before you begin the buffet line, or ordered at the end — whichever you prefer.
Each main is served in a half portion, allowing you to enjoy a wider variety of dishes from the buffet without filling up too quickly.
You’ll find beef pie, white clam vongole, and crispy fish and chips, on offer, in addition to new creations, including beef bourguignon, capellini pesto, club salad, and arancini.

We opted for the beef bourguignon, which came served with creamy mashed potato and two slices of sourdough toast. The beef was fork-tender and fell apart effortlessly, while the rich, slow-cooked gravy paired beautifully with the buttery mashed potato. It was hearty, comforting, and one of our favourite dishes from the spread.

Pasta lovers should go for the white clam vongole. The broth was incredibly addictive — light, garlicky and packed with umami, making it one of those sauces you’ll want to mop up with every last piece of bread.
If you’ve already tried the vongole, the capellini pesto is a refreshing new alternative — light, vibrant, and herbaceous.
And of course, the sweets and chocolate
Once you’re done with the savoury dishes, it’s finally time for the sweet treats — the real star of the show. The selection features a mix of fruity and chocolatey desserts, with standouts including the Super Stacked chocolate cake, chocolate truffle, passion fruit meringue, and lemon cake.

There are fresh fruit cups, too, filled with green grapes, strawberries and blueberries, though you can also request the fruits on their own.

Drizzle everything with Awfully Chocolate’s signature dark chocolate sauce, available in three intensities — 45%, 60% and 70% — that’s quite literally on tap. The higher the percentage, the darker and richer the chocolate.
If you’re not sure which to pick, the 60% is a great middle ground. And if you’ve got a serious sweet tooth, don’t be shy about pouring it over the chocolate cakes, too.

Now for the highlight that everyone’s here for — Awfully Chocolate’s signature raclette wheel.
Bring your table tag handed to you to the raclette station to redeem your serving of crepe. Each diner is entitled to one serving, which comes with whipped cream and raspberry jam.
A chocolate raclette wheel is clamped in place and gently heated for about five to 10 seconds until the chocolate softens. Once it’s perfectly melted, the staff will tilt the wheel so you can scrape as much warm, velvety chocolate onto your crepe as you’d like. Don’t be shy — keep going until you’re satisfied!
Then comes the fun part. You’ll get to scrape as much warm chocolate as you’d like over your crepe, so don’t hold back until you’re satisfied!

The rich, velvety chocolate is smooth and deeply indulgent, while the tart raspberry jam helps balance out the sweetness, making for the perfect end to your brunch.
Whether you’re here for the savouries or the endless chocolate, this buffet is bound to leave you full and satisfied.
With such a generous spread of both sweet and savoury options, we think it’s well worth a visit. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to spend the rest of your weekend afternoon wandering around Katong!
