3 places for hairy crabs in Singapore for a sumptuous crustacean feast
With 2025 coming to a close, and colder weather rolling in, you might find yourself craving something indulgent, yet comforting. To that we say: “Why not dive into a hearty dish of hairy crab in Singapore?”
We might be at the tail end of the hairy crab season, but there’s still plenty of restaurants in Singapore that serve up the crustacean, which is best known for its buttery roe (from the female ones) and milt (from the males).
But don’t wait too long — most of these spots only serve them till the end of November, which is just right round the corner.
So act quick, pin down a spot, and reserve your table using the links below, so you can feast on hairy crabs in Singapore fuss-free!
1. Yan Ting

Yan Ting at The St. Regis Singapore is serving up a limited-time six-course set (S$288 per person) designed by its executive Chinese chef Chan Chung Shing, but also serves the decadent dish a la carte.
For standalone dishes with hairy crab, there’s the expertly prepared bird’s nest broth with hairy crabmeat and crab roe (S$128), served in a hot stone pot. If you prefer something with more bite, try the deep-fried fish maw, stuffed shrimp paste, hairy crabmeat and crab roe (S$78) or even the steamed Shanghai pork dumpling with hairy crabmeat and roe (S$12.80 per piece).
If you’d rather not deal with the embellishments, opt for the unadulterated steamed hairy crab (S$148 per 250g) or the Shanghai-style hairy crab with Chinese rice wine (S$168 per 250g). Do note you’ll need to pre-order the Shanghai-style hairy crab at least one day in advance.
Or if you prefer an all-in-one meal, carby hairy crab-imbued options include the angel hair pasta with lobster, hairy crabmeat and crab roe (S$68), braised mung bean noodle with hairy crabmeat and crab roe (S$88), and the claypot rice, hairy crabmeat and crab roe (S$188, serves four).
Can’t decide? The six-course hairy crab set menu, which includes some elements of the dishes we’ve mentioned above, is your best bet. Just remember that the set menu requires a minimum of two to dine, and that all of these items are only available till November 30 — this Sunday!

2. Man Fu Yuan

Well-loved Cantonese restaurant Man Fu Yuan at InterContinental Singapore has curated a special seasonal hairy crabs menu, which highlights the delicate and authentic flavours of the hairy crabs that it imports from Yangcheng Lake. These crabs, available in various sizes starting from 100g, are enjoyed for their sweet and tender flesh, and rich roe.
At Man Fu Yuan, you can expect a diverse menu of crab-centric dishes that preserves its natural flavours, yet still has a special edge to them.
For those who want just a touch of seafood, the hairy crab meat dumplings in mala chilli oil with scallion (S$48 for six pieces), or crispy hairy crab croquettes with spicy black garlic sauce (S$58 for six pieces) are a good options that marry the sweetness of the crab with punchy sauces.
If you’re dining with company, you can consider its braised angled luffa with hairy crab meat and roe (S$58), and Jiangnan-style braised tofu with hairy crab meat (S$58), or even the fried rice with hairy crab meat, egg yolk and golden dried shrimp sauce (S$48 per person).
But if you’re here for the main star, go straight for the steamed Yangcheng Lake hairy crab (from S$43.50 per crab, starting from 100g) and the hairy crab meat baked in shell with crispy butter crust (S$88 for two pieces) — arguably the best ways to enjoy the crustacean.
