Shannon Yap | January 30, 2026

Chinese New Year 2026 is just right around the corner, and if you’re still wondering what sweet treats to put on the table to impress your guests (especially the ones who like to comment that you’re serving up the “same old” items again), don’t worry, we got you covered!

While we will never say no to the classic CNY treats, this Year of the Horse calls for something more exciting for the table.

No more horsing around with less than three weeks to the new year: Here are seven interesting CNY snacks and sweet treats that stood out to us among the many that we’ve seen, not just for how they taste, but for how good they will look sitting on your festive table, too!

1. The Deli at Goodwood Park Hotel’s Charming Stallion butter cake

There’s no better way to ring in the Year of the Horse than with a horse-shaped CNY treat — and Goodwood Park Hotel’s plump and striking Charming Stallion butter cake (S$138) would certainly be one that makes quite the statement.

Hand-sculpted over two days by the hotel’s pastry chef Joe Tan, this creation is not only auspiciously themed, but also topped with chocolate ingots that symbolises good wealth, along with refined gold fondant accents. It’s an eye-catching showstopper and is easily the kind of centrepiece that will steal the spotlight at your Chinese New Year table!

If you’re looking to order more for the table, there’s also the handcrafted Golden Fortune garlic marble cake (S$138) and the “mao shan wang” osmanthus Blossom dome (S$138), a fragrant longan pound cake filled with dried longan, and layered with rich mao shan wang durian mousse.

How to order? Its CNY selection is available until March 3 and can be pre-ordered via Goodwood Park Hotel’s website, with self-collection and delivery options. However, the meticulously prepared horse-shaped cake requires a five-day lead time for orders, so plan ahead if you’d like to order it.

2. Janice Wong’s 70% dark chocolate horse sculpture

When it comes to culinary artistry and one-of-a-kind creations, chef-artist Janice Wong’s eponymous confectionary brand is a powerhouse not to be missed.

This year, Janice serves up a 70% dark chocolate cashew praline sea salt horse (S$48) — an extraordinary, edible work of art that pairs a rich dark chocolate shell with a rich cashew praline filling.

For those looking to gift this work of art, there are also festive hampers, starring the chocolate horse-shaped carving, available. The Grand Fortune gift set (S$193) is a luxurious ensemble which includes assorted cookies in a limited-edition Horse tin, dark chocolate Mandarin Oranges, and a box of three chocolate Koi Fish

How to order? This CNY treat is up for grabs until March 6 via Janice Wong’s website and across all of its retail outlets, while stocks last.

You can choose to have it delivered right to your doorstep or opt for self-pickup, with the earliest fulfilment date indicated at checkout.

Want something a little cutesy but still in theme, especially if you’re shopping with the kids in mind? Halal-certified Annabella Patisserie’s Prosperous Horse pineapple tart (S$23.80 for eight pieces), filled with a pineapple jam that’s pleasantly sweet with a hint of tang, is a fun pick whether you’re looking for a themed snack or pineapple tarts for the table.

Led by Annabella Sonwelly, the brand first began as a humble home-based business, and has since grown to become an established macaron specialist with a loyal following.

Beyond pineapple tarts, the patisserie has also launched other delicious treats such as a Prosperous Horse bento cake (S$28.90), as well as zodiac-themed macarons, with prices starting from S$61.80, among other nibbles.

How to order? Pre-orders are available online via Annabella Patisserie’s website until March 4. Do cater for a three-day lead time, for either delivery or self-collection.

4. Kele Singapore’s Sanrio CNY snacks collection

We reckon this interesting CNY snack might be the gift for all Sanrio lovers this CNY! Now in its 43rd year, homegrown heritage brand Kele Singapore, known for its delectable pineapple tarts and treats, is offering something irresistibly cute this year — the Kele x Sanrio collection!

Given how the Sanrio-themed collaborations with Chagee and Mos Burger were all the rage in Singapore last year, we won’t be surprised if this collection flies off the shelves, too!

Kele’s limited-edition line-up features six collectible Sanrio-themed tins, each spotlighting a different character, with each tin containing a different assortment of Kele’s crowd-favourite festive treats.

Highlights include the Pompompurin edition (S$37.80 for 700g), featuring Kele’s much-loved traditional pineapple balls with a golden, melt-in-your-mouth pastry. Ones that caught our eyes include the Cinnamoroll edition (S$28.80 for 520g) with buttery almond cookies, and the Kuromi edition (S$39.80 for 700g) with double cheese pineapple balls — perfect for those who love a sweet-and-savoury combo.

How to order? Snag these CNY snacks online and in-store, including at its physical CNY pop-ups around Singapore, while stocks last. Both self-collection and delivery options are available, though the team has a final delivery date cut-off of February 12.

5. Nesuto’s pineapple tarts

Find the classic pineapple tarts too boring? Beloved patisserie Nesuto is here to shake things up with not one but three jazzed-up pineapple-tart flavours. This CNY, Nesuto is bringing back its well-loved tarts in brown butter vanilla and hojicha, while introducing a brand-new pineapple-yuzu pastry variation, inspired by its signature yuzu raspberry cake.

And the best part is that unlike the other snacks you’ve seen here, or around town, Nesuto’s pineapple tarts will still be available in its box sets at S$38.90 all year round, so if you find yourself craving these tarts even after the festive season, you’ll still be able to get your hands on them!

How to order? Get your hands on this CNY goodie via Nesuto’s website, or at both Nesuto and Cafe Nesuto outlets throughout the year. That said, stocks tend to run low during the festive period, so remember to place your orders early or you might have to wait till after CNY for a taste of them!

6. Thye Moh Chan’s pink Blossom pastry

Teochew pastry veteran Thye Moh Chan returns with another elegant line-up of handcrafted CNY snacks, with its CNY selection running through March 3.

Headlining its selection of snacks this year is the all-new pink Blossom pastry (S$13.80 for three pieces). A sight for the eyes, the delicate rose-hued creation comes filled with smooth red bean paste and bright tangerine peel, wrapped in a beautifully layered pastry.

Not just one for the younger ones who might find this an eye-catching snack for the ‘gram, we can easily see this becoming a firm favourite among the elders, too.

How to order? Purchase it via Thye Moh Chan’s website, with self-collection available at all outlets islandwide, except at Jewel Changi Airport. Alternatively, you can purchase it directly at its physical stores.

7. Shang Palace’s jin jun mei peach resin coconut pudding

We know CNY snacks can get quite cloying, so if you’re after something lighter and naturally sweetened, Shang Palace’s jin jun mei peach resin coconut pudding (S$89) might just be the answer.

A Cantonese dining institution with over 50 years of experience, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Singapore is known for its thoughtful use of fresh, seasonal ingredients, while marrying time-honoured techniques with contemporary touches.

Shang Palace’s nian gao-style dessert is crafted with prized jin jun mei tea from the Wuyi mountains, infused with nourishing peach resin and rich coconut cream. The result is a harmonious medley of floral fragrance, delicate sweetness, and comforting flavours.

It’s also housed in a beautifully designed octagonal revolving lantern box — which lights up to reveal eight galloping horses — making for quite an elegant gift if you’re looking for presents for loved ones or your elders.

How to order? Place your order at least three days in advance via its website, phone (+65 6213 4511), or email. Delivery and self-collection are available until March 3, with self-pickup at the hotel lobby’s Festive Counter from 10am to 8pm daily.
