Trying Wong Fu Fu’s 10-litre Giga milk tea
How will you be celebrating international bubble tea day on April 30? My suggestion: Go big — like, 10-litres-of-milk-tea big.
If you’re wondering: “How exactly am I going to get my hands on that?”, Wong Fu Fu has the answer — its wacky bubble tea challenge runs until May 11.
A towering cup of milk tea

Wong Fu Fu is serving what may be Singapore’s largest ever milk tea: The 10-litre Giga! bubble tea (S$58.80).
That’s the equivalent of 20 cups, served in a comically oversized cup, complete with giant pearls so massive you might need a knife and fork to tackle them. So, grab 19 friends, and it becomes surprisingly affordable.
Or, if you’d rather ease into it, you can opt for the 5-litre Mega bubble tea ($29.80) — a less daunting and more manageable option that’s making its return from last year.

We were stunned when the towering cup arrived at our table — it stands proud and tall, and came up to about our waist, if we stood next to it.
Thankfully, a jug of sweetener is provided, so that you can tailor the sugar level to your liking. It was a relief for us, especially since the milk tea itself is unsweetened, which saved us from a sugar overload.
Despite its intimidating size, the creamy, fragrant, and well-brewed milk tea held its ground. It tastes decent, considering the quantity, and would definitely satisfy your bubble tea cravings for the week.
Slicing open XXL brown sugar pearls

We move on to the XXL brown sugar pearls, each a whopping 6cm in diameter — larger than ping pong balls.
Besides these, you’ll also get a bowl of larger-than-usual tapioca pearls and another bowl of regular-sized brown sugar pearls — 500g of each size — adding texture and sweetness in each cup.

As someone who doesn’t usually add pearls to her drink, I was pleasantly surprised. Despite their size, they stayed soft, chewy and nicely chilled.
Between the two of us, we couldn’t finish the entire 10-litres. But good news: you can request takeaway cups for S$0.80 each to bring home to your friends and family — sharing is caring (and more realistic).

Whether you’re in the area for a shopping spree, or even craving Wong Fu Fu’s delicious halal Taiwanese-inspired dishes, this is a fun and quirky challenge to take on with your bubble tea-loving friends.
Do note this challenge is available for dine-in only.
This was an invited tasting.
