If you’ve been on the lookout for affordable places in the CBD to knock back some Happy Hour drinks, then Cygnet bar and grill at QT Singapore should be on the top of your list.

Located next to Lau Pa Sat hawker centre, QT Singapore is QT Hotels & Resort’s first foray into the southeast Asia market. It is housed in the heritage building formerly occupied by So Sofitel Singapore, and subsequently, Hotel Telegraph.

Cygnet’s Happy Hour, known as “The Cygnet Hour”, takes place every day (yes, not just weekdays) from 4pm and 7pm, and you can enjoy a variety of drinks and snacks at just S$10 per item.

The list of snacks — at S$10 each — include a Bikini sandwich with prosciutto and cheese, mini lobster rolls, a trio of oysters and tater tots, while the drinks menu features a rotating selection of cocktails, beer and wine.

If that isn’t reason enough to head down, all guests will even receive a free serving of fries once they arrive. No strings attached — we checked!

And to sweeten the deal even further, Cygnet is offering oysters for S$1 a piece on Wednesdays, from 5pm to 8pm.

To enjoy the deal, you’ll need to purchase at least one drink off Cygnet’s menu. Do note that there is a cap of 12 oysters for each drink purchase.

If you do the math, that’s S$22 for a drink and 12 oysters — we can’t think of a place with a better deal than this, in this day and age, especially in this economy.

Once you’re done with Happy Hour, and need more drinks, you can always head up to Rooftop at QT — a rooftop bar complete with a pool.

Rooftop at QT’s cocktail menu features drinks such as a refreshing, fruity Jalisco spritz (S$24), as well as cocktails fit for lounging by the pool with, such as a mojito (S$25) or even a uniquely Singaporean pandan colada (S$25).

Or you could just stay at Cygnet and revel in its 1990s hip-hop and R&B beats — your Happy Hour, your choice.
