Bloom & Boom: A multi-concept floral cafe by day, bar by night
There’s a new multi-concept spot in town — Bloom & Boom, a botanical cafe by day and bar by night.
Perched on the seventh floor of Bugis+, the concept opens out into an al fresco, garden-style space, with the cafe itself located indoors. With its lush greenery, pastel florals, and white cottage-style furniture, Bloom & Boom has a picture-perfect setup that’s great for the ’gram.

By day, Bloom & Boom operates as a floral-themed cafe, serving a selection of drinks and desserts for a light afternoon pick-me-up. Come evening, the space transforms into a full dining concept, with a menu spanning starters, mains, desserts, and alcoholic drinks.
A floral cafe by day

Inside, the space continues the same floral theme, with blooms and soft white accents throughout. It also doubles as a space for floral workshops, such as flower-wreath and candle-making sessions.

Seating is limited due to its smaller space, with mostly round tables arranged throughout.
There’s also a sofa corner with a low coffee table — this makes for a more comfortable lounging spot, if you’re looking to enjoy the space a little longer!

It offers a range of coffee and non-coffee options, including chocolate and matcha drinks, alongside a selection of fruit teas. Food-wise, the daytime menu is limited to cakes and desserts only, and is available from 11am to 6.30pm.

The lychee rose mille crepe cake (S$13.80) immediately stood out. It features delicate layers of soft crepes with hints of lychee and rose, finished with a butterfly decoration on top. The cake was light and airy, with a gentle floral fragrance and a refreshing sweetness.

The berry bavarois (S$9.80) also stood out for its vibrant hue and fruit-forward profile. Its pudding-like texture was silky and delicate, with a light consistency that made it especially refreshing.

We also tried the tiramisu (S$11.80), which had a more sponge cake-like texture compared to the usual creamy versions. It also tasted rather mild on the coffee profile, and isn’t one we’d recommend if you’re a purist!
Beyond these, other desserts on the menu include the gateau Basque (S$12.80) and pandan coconut roll (S$9.80).
For drinks, the coconut pistachio (S$9.50) was our favourite for its refreshing blend of coconut water and pistachio, coming together in a well-balanced and unexpectedly complementary mix. It was light, nutty, and subtly sweet, making it especially easy to sip on.

Coffee-wise, there’s a selection of flavoured coffees, with the osmanthus latte (S$8.50) standing out the most to us, as it’s not something you’d commonly find elsewhere. It was light and refreshing, with delicate floral notes that didn’t overpower the coffee.

Its evening dining and bar concept
Its night menu runs from 7pm to 10pm, with a variety of dishes available, including soups, starters, mains, and desserts.
At night, the space transforms into a purple-hued setting, with a cosy ambience that gives it a slightly romantic feel.

For starters, the olive oil garlic prawns (S$15.80), which came with seven pieces on the plate, were flavourful and well-seasoned, while the pan-seared foie gras (S$16.80) was rich and melt-in-your-mouth, served with berries for a touch of sweetness and tang. It is on the smaller side, though, and can be finished in just a few bites.

For mains, the basil prawn seafood pasta (S$23.80) was well-executed, with a fragrant basil aroma that came through nicely. The pasta had a slight bite to it and was well coated in the sauce — it was simple but satisfying, and we scraped the plate clean.

What makes the night experience stand out is how the space transforms into a chill dinner spot, with a live DJ starting from around 7.30pm. It sets a laid-back, unwinding vibe that’s perfect after a long day of work.
It also doubles as a bar, serving cocktails, hard liquor, champagne, and wines, with the bar menu running until 3am. Cocktails are priced at S$25, while the rest are available by the bottle.

Overall, Bloom & Boom delivers on both day and night vibes, though we found the prices to be on the steeper side, especially given the smaller portions. As seating is limited, reservations are recommended to avoid long wait times, especially over the weekends.
If you’re deciding between the two, we’d recommend visiting in the day for its sunlit, aesthetic photo spots, or at night if you’re after a more chill, laid-back vibe with dinner and drinks.
