Why visit? Named after one of Robertson Quay’s beloved residents — a friendly golden retriever George — Good Boy George is situated by the riverside and is perfect for a sit-down, anytime of the day. It’s a warm, open space with really chill vibes, specially meant for the community to enjoy. Being pet-friendly, it also provides water bowls for any visiting dogs.
If you’re the sort that prefers to have your coffee or brunch leisurely, it’s open from morning to till evening. It serves up exciting daytime eats (available up till 3pm), to very palatable lunch and dinner mains, as well as snack time bar bites (available after 5pm).
Crowd favourites: The cafe serves up rather amazing pork dishes, so go for the pork sandwich (S$18) that’s only available till 3pm, or the roasted pork belly (S$14) on its own as a snack that’s available after 5pm. Not only that, here you can also enjoy a pint of beer at only S$6 all day long.

2. Canopy

Why visit? One of the early OG garden dining and dog-friendly cafes in Singapore, Canopy may have closed its Bishan Park chapter but fortunately it has opened new spots that stay true to what made it special in the first place.
With five outlets in stunning locations awash in greenery and nature’s natural light, Canopy is definitely a top option for large group gatherings and of course, your fur-kids are also welcome to enjoy the ample space in the al fresco dining areas.
Crowd favourites: Its crabmeat aglio olio (S$24 to S$26 — prices differ across outlets) is a spicy treat that will tingle your tastebuds. For sharing, get the cauliflower fritters (S$15) for something healthier yet tasty.
3. The Urban Hideout
The Brooks I, 01-05, 60 Springside Walk
Open: Tuesday to Friday (12pm to 10.30pm), Saturday and Sunday (10.30am to 10.30pm)
Why visit? If you’re looking for a place where your fur-kid can dine alongside you, The Urban Hideout is it. Here, not only are pets allowed indoors, they also have their own menu which features a good variety of pet food and treats by PAWFF, suitable for all furry friends.
Now, let’s discuss what’s in it for the humans: You’ll be as happy as, if not happier than, your fur-kids because the food is pretty fabulous! Extra points if you enjoy waffles and gelato, because you’re going to find it hard to resist its hand-churned gelatos that come in all sorts of exquisite flavours.
Crowd favourites: One of the favourites here is its rosti — you can choose between a Swiss-herbed rosti (S$18.90) or a mentaiko cheese rosti (S$20.90). The flavour combinations are rather exciting, and the dish is served with a house salad, a dollop of sour cream and a protein of your choice.
For dessert, do indulge yourself with its decadent, rich and creamy gelato (from S$3.90 for a single scoop).
4. The Bark Cafe
1000 Upper Changi Road North
Open: Saturday to Thursday (11.30am to 12am), Friday (11am to 12am)
Why visit? Fancy yourself chill vibes alongside your favourite fur buddy? The Bark Cafe is the perfect spot for some drinks, live music and excellent fare.
Sequestered away in Changi, right beside the Changi Chapel & Museum, its secluded spot is like a breath of fresh air that whisks you away from city life, to relaxing tranquility. Your pets definitely enjoy themselves here with its ample space and fresh air!
The al fresco bar and bistro offers up a fusion of both Western and Asian fare of wide variety and exceptional quality, which you can opt to wash down with a few pints of beer or cocktails.
Crowd favourites: Its chicken satay (S$16.90) is succulent and juicy, and its signature bark chicken wings (S$18.90) is also a must-order. For the main dish, our choice will be the angus beef risotto (S$25.90) — meaty and hearty all in one plate.
5. The Barking Bean
Siglap V, 01-02, 2 First Street
Open: Monday to Friday (9am to 9pm), Saturday and Sunday (8am to 9pm)
Why visit? Previously known as Chanterelle Cafe, which is best known for its plant-based menu, The Barking Bean’s latest concept is rather different. Regardless, it’s a laudable concept that still aims to bring together the community of pet lovers. From its warm greetings from its friendly crew to its cosy environment where dogs are free to roam, it’s a great place to connect with other paw-rents and for your fur-kid to have a playdate!
A plus point: The staff absolutely adore dogs and welcome them with open arms. They even provide toys for the fur-kids, while the cafe also provides dog-friendly meals and treats in the form of waffles and ice cream, too.
Crowd favourites: Since it has been all about the dogs so far, this part is reserved specially for us humans — you can look forward to a spanking new menu that has just been launched! Some of its well-loved mains are the chicken & waffles (S$19), and the burger & fries (S$21).
As a side, you should most definitely try the charred Brussels sprouts (S$12), which can be a difficult dish to get right, but wonderful when done well.
6. Well Collective
Northshore Plaza II, 02-11/12, 418 Northshore Drive
Open: Monday to Thursday (12pm to 10pm), Friday to Sunday (10am to 10pm)
Why visit? With a lovely al fresco pet patio within its space that’s specially for pets and their paw-rents, Well Collective is quite the haven for anyone looking to have a meal with their furry companions. We especially love the thoughtful gestures of having pet bowls available for loan and the complimentary iced water for paw-rents!
The cafe serves up an extensive yet inclusive menu, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options for those with dietary preferences. Your furry pals can also get their own paw bento, offered as part of a collaboration with Pet Cubes, which includes a starter, entree and side. Now, how’s that for VIP treatment?
Crowd favourites: Truffle seems to be the common theme on the menu here, with its truffle mushroom pasta (S$21) and truffle beef bowl with sous vide egg (S$25) being hot choices. We also can’t say no to its Shibuya toast (S$18), with three delectable flavours of choice — choco-hazelnut, earl grey orange and creme brulee.
Do note that there is a minimum spend of S$15 per diner, and a 90-minute dine-in limit at the pet patio during peak periods and on weekends.
7. W39 Bistro & Bakery
39 Jalan Mas Puteh
Open: Tuesday to Friday (10am to 9pm), Saturday and Sunday (9am to 9pm)
Why visit? At W39 Bistro & Bakery, you are promised warm service, good food and a cosy environment, making it is a favourite amongst its regulars for a hearty brunch. For those who love a late brunch, you’ll also be glad to know that it serves up a diverse brunch menu from 11am to 5pm on weekdays, and 9am to 5pm on weekends, with the option of also having other starters and mains that are available all-day.
For your beloved fur-kids, we heard that its homemade pumpkin doggy biscuits (S$14 for eight pieces) are rather popular and there are also other warm pet-friendly meals that look rather delish, if we may say so ourselves.
Crowd favourites: There is such a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. You’d have to try the chef’s special nyonya mee siam (S$16) — this local classic is elevated with the inclusion of prawns and a sous vide egg atop a thick tangy broth with just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness.
A close challenger is the prawn and bacon linguine (S$18), cooked aglio olio style.
8. On Pause
37 Lowland Road
Open: Monday, Wednesday to Friday (11am to 9pm), Saturday and Sunday (9am to 9pm)
Why visit? On Pause is a quaint little dog cafe in Singapore that has opened in the heart of Kovan, just a five-minute walk away from the MRT. Over here, you are encouraged to take a pause from the hustle of daily life, and even better still, have your pet with you as you slow things down.
Breakfast is available till 1pm every day, while those who might prefer non-breakfast food can get lunch and dinner options from 12.30pm. The cafe also offers new dishes over the weekend or weekend specials as they call it, keeping things real exciting!
Crowd favourites: The rice bowls here are quite a hit. Depending on your preference of protein, both the braised pork belly rice bowl (S$16) and the grilled prawns rice bowl (S$18.50) are scrumptious options.
9. Plain Meredith
One Holland Village, 02-23/24, 7 Holland Village Way

Why visit? Plain Meredith greets its patrons with a line proudly displayed directly behind its counter: Life is better with a dog (and we gotta say we agre). You can find Plain Meredith within One Holland Village, Singapore’s newest pet-friendly mall — choose between dining al fresco where your pet can frolick in the yard, or in the indoor air-conditioned comfort of the charming space.
Apart from its pet menu consisting of a variety of protein options, as well as ice cream, there is also a pet treats corner selling freeze-dried treats within the cafe. With a full menu for humans, comprising all day brunch, appetisers, and mains among others, we guarantee that both you and your fur-kid will be spoilt for choice, fur sure.
Crowd favourites: Besides brewing a rather good coffee, its breakfast platter (S$28) that’s available until 4pm, is power packed with everything you’d expect in a complete breakfast platter.
Other than that, you should also make space also for its tagliatelle lamb ragu (S$29) and Asian spiced chicken (S$25), both of which are substantial mains that pack a good flavour punch.
10. Toma By The River

Open: Tuesday to Friday (11.30am to 11pm), Saturday (8.30am to midnight), Sunday (8.30am to 11pm)
Why visit? Have yourself a taste of Europe along Singapore’s own Robertson Quay at TOMA By The River, which aims to emulate the European contemporary dining experience by the riverside. Pets are welcomed at the al fresco dining area with a view of the river and water bowls are available upon request.
Whether you decide to sit indoors or outdoors, you will be able to enjoy the specially curated breakfast menu that’s available from 7.30am to 12pm, or the lunch and dinner menu that is available from 12pm onwards. Whichever time you choose to come by, the food will not disappoint.
Crowd favourites: For a healthy and hearty start to your day, its shakshuka (S$26) is a great choice for breakfast, especially if you’re looking for a vegetarian or dairy-free dish. For its lunch and dinner mains, its wagyu beef cheek (S$32) fusilli pasta and spinner crab risotto (S$32) will leave you wanting more.
11. Hub & Spoke Cafe
Singapore Changi Airport, 01-T2S-02, 60 Airport Boulevard
Open: Monday to Sunday (7.30am to 8pm)
Why visit? Hub & Spoke Cafe at Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 is the popular spot for cyclists or fur-kids and their paw-rents finishing up a journey along the Changi Airport Connector or the Jurassic Mile. Its al fresco dining area is free for pets to roam at, with a sprawling outdoor garden that your dogs will love.
The menu features a range of western dishes, alongside a handful of local classics. It even offers local favourites such as kaya butter toast sets, or gula melaka kopi or teh available at prices that are very reasonable for a cafe — additional points for keeping true to our local culture!
Crowd favourites: We can’t say no to the local classics. Hub & Spoke Cafe plates up a pretty solid nasi lemak (S$9.90 with chicken, S$8.90 with fish and otah), and the unique mee rebus Java (S$7.90) has its own fan following as well.
12. OMD Cafe & Bar
12 East Coast Road
Open: Tuesday to Friday (10am to 12am), Saturday and Sunday (8.30am to 12am)
Why visit? Given that OMD is the acronym for “oh my dog” you can be quite assured that OMD Cafe & Bar is a place where your dogs will be well loved. Pets are welcomed both indoors and outdoors, and receive free puppa-ccinos (or puppy cappuccinos) upon arrival, or you can also purchase pet food for them. It’s also fantastic that there’s a play area at the back for the fur-kids to expend their limitless energy!
Now, the food here is rather outstanding so can be assured your fur-kids are not going to be the only ones having a good time. This is even more impressive since its has quite a large menu. With all these, and along with warm and friendly service, this place is truly a gem in the east.
Crowd favourites: There has been high praise heaped on many items on the menu — popular entrees for sharing are its Asian mix OMD house satay (S$16) and the OMD baked brie cheese (S$24), which we hear is highly addictive. On its brunch menu that’s available daily till 3pm, the decadent mac and cheese (S$14) is another popular option.
13. A Furry Affair
87 Frankel Avenue
Open: Sunday to Thursday (11am to 10pm), Friday and Saturday (10.30am to 12am)
Why visit? A Furry Affair is one of the newer additions to the dog cafe scene, but nonetheless a great one! The cafe has a cosy ambience where your fur-kids can roam freely indoors in air-conditioned comfort within two gated areas, as well as a full-sized menu comprising mains, sides, drinks and desserts — it’s touches like that that you tell the cafe has had it all thought out.
While your fur-kids are frolicking about or polishing off their paw-some meal box, paw-rents can savour a variety of western dishes or light bites, as well as gelato that you can enjoy with waffles. Look out for its cafe specials as well — there’s interesting beverage options such as its Korean Jolly Pong frappe (Korean whole wheat cereal frappe, from S$8.50), or taro frappe with panna cotta (from S$8.50) which are certainly worth a try!
Crowd favourites: There is a variety of food and drinks available here that will be exciting choices for a good meal. The chicken chop with garlic rice (S$18.90) is well-loved for its generously portioned, well-seasoned protein main, while its carbonara with salmon (S$22.90) is also said to be a cut above what other cafes serve.
14. Menage Cafe
Sin Ming Plaza Tower 2, 01-01/02, 6 Sin Ming Road

Why visit? When dog cafes in Singapore are mentioned, Menage Cafe quickly pops up as one of the choice cafes that not only allows dogs indoors, but also one that serves up high-quality nosh, for both pets and humans! It has tied up with Vastitude Pet Food to offer healthy sous vide proteins for your fur-kids. Meanwhile, us humans can opt for an all-day brunch, donburis, pastas, and a range of mains, among others.
In fact, it’s so popular that it would be wise to make a reservation if you plan to come over the weekend. The cafe itself is full of cheery vibes and colours, with various corners that are Instagram-worthy and make for lovely photo opportunities for you and your fur-kid.
Crowd favourites: Some of the popular dishes here include the smoked duck truffle carbonara (S$20.90) that’s a tender and flavourful treat, the spicy tom yum pasta (S$20.90) for a good spice kick and the duck confit (S$23.90) as a reliable main.
15. Kontiki
Passion Wave @ Marina Bay, 01-02, 11 Rhu Cross
Open: Tuesday to Friday (3pm to 11pm), Saturday (8am to 11pm), Sunday (10am to 11pm)
Why visit? You’ll find Kontiki next to the iconic Benjamin Sheares Bridge, with a spectacular riverside view. Its al fresco area right along the Tanjong Rhu promenade makes for a pleasant spot for hanging out with your fur-kid after a walk or cycle, or even an outing to neighbouring Gardens by the Bay!
With a casual and relaxed ambience that even includes live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, along with some good grub and drinks, Kontiki is the chill-out place you never knew you needed. We highly recommend coming by for a panoramic view of sunset, but if you’re more of a day time person, there’s also weekend breakfast and brunch that’s available from 10am to 3pm.
Crowd favourites: Its signature fish & chips (S$19) is definitely one of the better ones out there, made with beer battered halibut that has been crisped beautifully. You’ll also need to try its Rack The Lamb (S$36), which is a rack of lamb grilled to mind-blowing perfection.
16. Venusology Cafe
The Guild International College, Phoenix Park, 318A Tanglin Road
Open: Wednesday to Friday (9am to 6pm), Saturday and Sunday (8am to 9pm)
Why visit? Venusology Cafe is something special because it is a pet-friendly vegetarian bistro, with options for vegans as well. Surrounded by nature with ample space and seats, it’s the perfect place for your fur-kids to run around freely and unleashed in a relaxed setting while you get to enjoy a healthy yet tasty vegan meal.
There may not be any meat on the menu, but what Venusology has come up with here might certainly be good enough to bring about some converts! The ingredients used are fresh, nutritious and colourful, and it’s easy to tell that everything is plated with lots of soul and love.
Crowd favourites: You will enjoy the sunny-cheesy side up kroffles (S$23) if you are a fan of cheese, while its Moonlight burrata pizza (S$32) loaded with the creamiest burrata air-flown from Italy and topped with a sunny side up that resembles a moon, is a beauty as well. Get refreshing fruit “Ades” (S$11) to go along with your meal — popular choices are its lychee rose and Applenade (apple-lemon) flavours.
17. Surrey Hills Grocer

Why visit? With three of its current five outlets being pet-friendly, the Australian-inspired Surrey Hills Grocer in Woodleigh Mall, One Holland Village and most recently, Vivocity, are enchanting spots for paw-rents to bring their fur-kids. The paw-rents get to indulge in the most gastronomic experience, while the fur-kids get to frolic in their very own Furry Hill Grocer.
There are different concepts and menus for the different outlets, but what’s the same is the commitment to quality and standards of food, as well as the gorgeous interiors. This also gives you the opportunity to experience something new each time you visit a new outlet! Pricing at Surrey Hills Grocer may seem rather premium, but the portions are big and it will not disappoint.
Crowd favourites: At the Woodleigh Mall outlet, you can treat yourselves to some pancakes from Melbourne’s famous The Pancake Parlour. Besides that, its matcha udon (S$26) may be a bit of an acquired taste but a highly novel dish. Look out also for its wagyu eggs Shibuya (S$36) for some melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
At the One Holland Village outlet, its tantalising tapas menu is a collaboration with Movida Original, a Spanish restaurant in Melbourne (and now in Singapore, too), and certainly something you should explore. But if you’re going for a hearty main, its barramundi salsa verde (S$40) will keep you coming back for more and its truffled wagyu donut (S$35) is an astonishing yet rewarding fusion of sweet and savoury.
Its Vivocity outlet is inspired by the Australian rainforest in design, but on its menu you’ll find a similar-yet-different mix of local and Japanese-inspired fare. Its roasted garlic miso butter (S$22) features casarecce pasta in a decadently umami miso butter sauce with thick chunks of pork sausage, while its “Hokkien Mee” (S$26) is what you get when you combine everyone’s favourite prawn noodles with Italian spaghetti. We can confirm it’s got crispy lard still — that can’t be missed, for sure.
