Sorry, it’s a Grab Sale: These 10 food brands are furious about free delivery

May is definitely looking like the best month to eat in and feast more. As part of The Grab Sale from May 7 to 18, enjoy free delivery (capped at S$8) on some of your favourite food and grocery brands on GrabFood and GrabMart.
It’s a steal, and the foods know it.
From Burger King to Don Don Donki, these iconic eats and treats are raging because you get to enjoy them with free delivery.
Comforting mains, indulgent desserts, even beauty buys — they’re all outraged at the audacity of this sale.
So go on: Tap to order and let the food rage all the way to your doorstep. Here are our top ten picks on what to eat.

1. Burger King

Burger King’s ultimate angus mushroom Swiss (S$11.85) used to be the boss of the menu. Now it’s being sent to your doorstep with free delivery, and it’s fuming. This premium burger, with its juicy angus beef patty, melted Swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms, feels its royal status is being undermined.
While the burger fumes, we’re also eyeing fan favourites such as the Whopper (S$10.40), and those addictive onion rings (S$5.15). The food’s mad, but your wallet won’t be.
2. OK Chicken Rice

Open: Operating hours vary across outlets

OK Chicken Rice’s steamed chicken rice (S$6.50) is cooked to perfection, and wants some respect. After all, the tender, juicy chicken paired with fragrant rice is a classic comfort food combo.
But here it is, showing up right at your doorstep, without changing extra for the effort.
We don’t see why you should stop there — throw in a lemon cutlet chicken rice (S$5.80), or a side of braised tofu (S$1.30). Classic, comforting, and now very mad that there’s no delivery charge.
3. Chagee

Open: Operating hours vary across outlets

Chagee’s peach oolong milk tea (S$5.40) is hoppingly furious that it’s leaving the safe confines of the Chagee store and coming to your home all without a delivery fee. This premium tea, known for its fragrant oolong base and sweet peach notes, feels like you should have to work harder (and queue longer) before you get to savour it.
Another popular item is the da hong pao milk tea (S$5.40). Order it and enjoy the sweet, silky calm that the drink itself is clearly not feeling.
4. Ishiro Fusion Bowl
Multiple stores islandwide.
Open: Operating hours vary across outlets

The Ishiro signature chashu bowl (S$12.90) just found out it’s available for The Grab Sale’s free delivery deal and it’s sizzling mad about this! . The slow-cooked pork, tender and flavorful, was meant to be savoured in a restaurant setting.
Add on the grilled unagi bowl (S$15.90) or mentaiko salmon bowl (S$13.90) and let the dishes rage while you dig in complete bliss. Packed with protein and carbs, these are perfect for a quick lunch — just ignore the passive-aggressive energy coming from the bowls and you’re good to go.
5. Soup Restaurant

The samsui ginger chicken (S$28.90) has always been the pride of Soup Restaurant. Now, it’s simmering with anger over its free delivery status. This signature dish, featuring tender chicken slices with a fragrant ginger sauce, was meant for special occasions (or so it thought).
Pair it with claypot tofu (S$14.90) or their nourishing double-boiled soups for a fuss-free meal at home. It may arrive grumpy, but it’ll still taste amazing — especially on a cold, rainy day.
6. Don Don Donki
Multiple stores islandwide.
Open: Operating hours vary across outlets

Don Don Donki’s ready-to-eat meals aren’t just convenient, they’re also having a meltdown. The salmon mentaiyaki don (S$7.90), for example, is fuming about The Grab Sale, when it thinks it’s worth more than that.
Still, that’s not stopping us from adding it to cart, alongside some mochi, sushi, and other Japanese treats that caught our eye while browsing. Don Don Donki deals are always worth the drama.
7. Annabella Patisserie

Dessert-lovers, this one’s for you. These delicate sea salt, tiramisu, and chocolate macarons (S$13.80 for a box of six) from Annabella Patisserie are insulted. Hand-crafted elegance, now riding along with your bubble tea order. Rude — but delicious.
They were not expecting a trip to your home or office in a delivery bag, sans delivery fee. But who can say no to these flavours? This is your sign to treat yourself, and mildly insult a macaron in the process.
8. Baskin Robbins

Mint chocolate chip and cotton candy scoops (S$7 for a single regular scoop) at this comfort ice cream brand are melting with rage — they weren’t made for this level of affordability. These creamy, colourful scoops are raging mad that they’re not only available for delivery, but the delivery is free, too?!
Add a handpacked quart (S$30) to your freezer before they stage a protest. Free delivery means more dessert, and a great excuse to host an ice cream party.
9. Cheers & FairPrice Xpress

The Nissin instant cup noodles (S$3.10) are spiralling, the Calbee crispy potato chips (S$3.30, 72g) are salty, and the Jinro grapefruit soju (S$16.80) are deeply offended at the lack of a delivery charge.. It’s a full-blown snack rebellion — and the best kind of stay-home stock-up.
Our advice? Add all of them to the cart and let them riot together in the bag. It’s the ultimate snack haul, minus the delivery fee.
10. Carlsberg Beer Store

Even the Carlsberg smooth draught (S$22.10 for a pack of six) can’t chill. It used to be reserved for special occasions — now it’s arriving cold and furious.
Whether you’re stocking up for a weekend wind-down or midweek football night, now’s the time to do it. Just brace yourself for a side of emotional baggage with your beer.
