The latest buzz in town? A new Shake Shack x Nae:um collaboration.

If you haven’t heard of Nae:um, it’s a one-Michelin-starred modern Korean restaurant helmed by chef Louis Han, known for his inventive approach to Korean cuisine that’s inspired by personal memories and global influences.

The restaurant recently reopened in August after a two-month revamp, unveiling a more chic and minimalist space along with a refreshed course menu.

Now, Nae:um has teamed up with Shake Shack, the popular American burger chain, to create an exclusive line-up that blends Shake Shack’s modern classics with Nae:um’s contemporary Korean flavours.

The collaboration introduces a limited-time menu featuring two burgers, a side, and a shake — each inspired by Nae:um’s signature ingredients and flavour profiles.

Our take

Leading the line-up is the Pyo:go (mushroom) galbi Shack (S$14.20) — available in a single or double — and it quickly became our instant favourite. It sees an angus beef patty layered with kale salad, red onions, lettuce, and thick slices of shiitake mushroom, all glazed in a smoky-sweet galbi sauce. The juicy patty and umami-rich sauce tied everything together beautifully, giving the burger an unmistakably Korean edge.

If you’re not a beef fan, go for the Saeng:chae (radish salad) gochujang chicken (S$12.40). Equally flavourful, this burger offers a choice between breast or thigh meat (we’d recommend the thigh for extra tenderness). It’s packed with crunchy vegetables and a punchy gochujang sauce that delivers just the right amount of heat.

Of course, no Shack meal is complete without fries — this time reimagined as salsa Jang:ajji fries (S$9.80), topped with a tangy soy-pickle salsa. It’s a bold take that may divide opinions, but if you love ketchup-style tanginess, you’ll probably enjoy this twist.

To round things off, try the tropical makgeolli shake (S$10.20) — a creamy blend of pineapple puree, lime juice, and vanilla custard. It’s refreshing after a hearty burger, though the makgeolli flavour is subtle and might leave you wishing for a stronger kick.

If you’re a fan of Korean fare, this collab is one you won’t want to miss. The Shake Shack x Nae:um menu is available for a limited time at all Shake Shack outlets islandwide — so you might want to get your hands on it while stocks last.

Prefer to stay in? It’s also available on GrabFood exclusively until November 18.
