McDonald’s fans: We’re eating well this year.

This might be one of the best years to be a McDonald’s fan in Singapore — we’ve been getting banger after banger of limited-time specials, ranging from the all-new curry chicken McNuggets, to the recent Minecraft Movie tie-ins.

There seems to be something new every month and for May, it’s another exciting new creation.

We’re getting chicken McWraps starting from Apr 24!

What makes it even better is that we’re getting not just one, but two chicken McWraps from McDonald’s!

The first is the buttermilk chicken McWrap (from S$8.30 for an Extra Value meal) that will be a permanent addition to the menu during non-breakfast hours.

Accompanying it is a spicy chicken McWrap (from S$8.30 for an Extra Value meal) that will be available for a limited time only.

The former comes with a crunchy buttermilk-coated chicken thigh, jazzed up with a flurry of fresh lettuce and purple cabbage, topped with sharp white cheddar and finished with black pepper mayo.

In particular, we thoroughly enjoyed how the rich and slightly prickly black pepper mayo complemented the buttermilk chicken’s seasoning.

Spice lovers would gravitate towards the spicy McChicken version, though. It features a spicy chicken thigh atop a bed of the same veggies and cheddar, but topped with mayonnaise, instead — it’s like a creamier, wrapped variation of McDonald’s iconic McSpicy,

To support the brand-new chicken McWraps, McDonald’s has also brought back the beloved criss-cut fries (from S$4.85 a la carte, or S$1 to upgrade with any meal) and the banana pie (from S$1.80).

The criss-cut fries are just as soft and fluffy on the inside as you’d remember, while the banana pie is loaded up with a fragrant and lightly sweet banana filling that’s not too cloying.

If banana isn’t your choice of tropical fruit, McDonald’s also offers another wonderfully tropical dessert choice: Coconut soft-serves.

The refreshing ice cream flavour will be available in cone (from S$1.30), sundae (from S$2.70) and McFlurry (from S$3.60) forms.

Oh, and you’d also be able to grab S$1 McCafe coffees from Apr 28 to May 28 during weekdays, except public holidays, with five options — Americano, iced Americano, latte, iced latte, and cappuccino.

Guess we have plenty of reasons to head down to McDonald’s in May — the Golden Arches are really on a roll!

This was an invited tasting.
