Korean cafe B for Bagel has been delighting local bagel enthusiasts for nearly two years.

Last week, it went viral for bringing the trending Korean cracking latte to Singapore. It’s an oh-so-Instagrammable iced drink that’s a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds!

Let’s get cracking

B for Bagel started offering the cracking lattes at its Tanglin Mall outlet on Jun 1.

In a post on its Instagram page, it also announced that it will also be rolling the drink out at its Parkway Parade and Great World City stores from tomorrow, Jun 8.

If you haven’t seen it yet, B for Bagel’s cracking lattes comprise an iced beverage encased in a dark chocolate shell.

The drink quickly became popular on TikTok and Instagram, with many users showing how to crack the chocolate shell on camera.

Four cracking latte flavours are available:

  • Coffee (S$7.90)
  • Chocolate (S$7.90)
  • Matcha (S$7.90)
  • Dirty matcha (S$8.90)

When we visited the shop on Thursday afternoon, it was relatively quiet. Despite the cracking lattes going viral on social media just the weekend before, we seemed to be the only customers getting their chocolate fix.

At first glance, the cups were filled to the brim with an uninteresting dark brown hue.

But once you’ve squeezed the cup a little, the shell splinters to allow the liquid within to spill out its chocolatey prison. It’s particularly photogenic, especially if you’d ordered one of the matcha drinks — the browns and greens swirl together for that must-have Instagram shot.

Despite it essentially being a chocolate beverage in a chocolate shell, the chocolate variant manages to avoid being one-dimensional. The iced chocolate beverage proved to be sweeter than its dark chocolate exterior and comes together nicely as the unsweetened pieces melt into the liquid.

For those looking for a hit of caffeine, there’s coffee or dirty matcha — the latter is a heady drink combining the earthy notes of matcha with two shots of espresso. Be sure to stir thoroughly for even more of that rich chocolatey goodness.

Limited-time offers on its bagels

In addition to the new drink offerings, B for Bagel is also running a buy-two-get-one-free promotion on its bagels for a limited-time only.

There’s no word on when this deal will run until, but HungryGoWhere understands it’ll be around until the end of June, at the very least!

Mix and match your favourite signatures, such as bulgogi (S$16.90) and bacon cheese omelette (S$15.90).

For a sweet treat, the new chocolate-filled Double Choco (S$6.90) bagel is a must-try, combining the brand’s signature bagels with a rich, indulgent filling.
