Bored Tacos launches fish tacos, horchata milkshakes at new Simpang Bedok outlet
If you remember the now-closed Egg Stop, or Wooly’s Bagel and its recent rebrand, Marlow’s Deli, then you might already be familiar with Bored Tacos — all concepts helmed by the same team.
Bored Tacos opened its first outlet in Joo Chiat in September last year. A second followed in Hougang this February, then another at Jalan Klapa in May.
Fast forward to today, a little over a year later, the brand is already onto its fourth outlet — this time, in Simpang Bedok.

Its appeal is especially evident among the Gen-Z crowd. Pops of cool colours in the space, poster-lined walls, and cool merchandise. Meanwhile, a menu of on-trend offerings completes the picture.

Alongside its sister concepts, Bored Tacos positions itself as an easy go-to choice: A casual spot for friends to gather over a meal, a laidback midday pit-stop, or an impromptu supper run.
New outlet-exclusive menu items
To mark the opening of its newest outlet, Bored Tacos has rolled out a handful of outlet-exclusive menu items.

One of the new additions is the tandoori chicken tacos (two pieces for S$12, three for S$16). Each taco comes with melted cheese, cucumber onion salad, cilantro, and generously filled with housemade jalapeno sour cream.
It’s an interesting addition, and an enjoyable one. The tandoori spices come through clearly — warm, aromatic, and adds a layer of spicy depth to the tacos.

The taco we loved the most was the fish tacos (two pieces for S$15, three for S$19). The fish is breaded and fried until golden, tucked into tortillas with melted cheese, crisp lettuce, pickled onions, and chipotle mayo.
The breaded fish fingers deliver a satisfying crunch with each bite, while remaining flaky inside. A generous dip into the smoky chipotle mayo pulls everything together, lending richness to the dish. It was easily the best taco of the night for us — comforting, well-balanced, and easy to keep going back for.

There’s a new drink on the menu as well: The horchata milkshake (S$8.90), finished with a cinnamon syrup drizzle and topped with toasted rice puffs.
Horchata is a traditional Spanish drink made from soaked and blended rice, water, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla — known for its creamy, dessert-like profile.
It’s indulgent, sweet, and creamy. Though, it does lean on the heavier side.
If you’re someone with a sweet tooth, this is best saved for the end of the meal, rather than paired alongside the savoury dishes.
Returning classics
Fans of Bored Tacos can rest assured: Its familiar staples are still available at the new outlet.

If there’s one area where Bored Tacos is doing right, it is its seafood taco offerings. Like the fish tacos, the garlic prawn tacos (two pieces for S$15, three for S$19) was a standout for us.
The prawns are well-seasoned and cooked just right. It is topped with fresh mango salsa, sour cream, and lettuce. The sweetness from the mango salsa lifts the dish, adding a zest to the savoury prawns, while the sour cream keeps things creamy and indulging.

If you remember the height of the birria-beef craze, Bored Tacos was quick to jump onboard.
Its birria beef tacos (two pieces for S$14.50, three for S$18) are topped simply with onions and cilantro, and served alongside a rich consomme for dipping. Meanwhile, the birria beef grilled cheese (S$14.50) is packed with melty cheese, diced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, served alongside a consomme, too.
Both remain its most popular orders.

Dipped into the consomme, each bite becomes dripping and juicy, adding much-needed richness and moisture. While the beef itself leans slightly dry, the consomme helps redeem the dish significantly. Between the chicken and beef offerings, the birria beef still stands out as the stronger option.
With its new Simpang Bedok outlet, Bored Tacos positions itself as a convenient spot for last-minute dinner plans, late-night suppers, or when a craving for Mexican-inspired comfort food hits.
While the flavours may not be groundbreaking, the casual atmosphere, familiar favourites, and indulgent touches make it a reliable stop for easy, guilt-pleasing eats.
