10 unique mooncake collections to gift your loved ones this Mid-Autumn Festival 2024
It’s that time of the year again when you gather your loved ones to indulge in mooncakes and maybe even light a lantern or two for walks around your estate.
It’s also that time of the year that you’ll see mooncakes everywhere — every Chinese restaurant, shopping centre atrium and hotel lobbies — we get it, it can be a lot, which is why we’re here to help you sieve through the spread.
Mid-Autumn Festival may be happening on September 17 this year but there’s still time to get your loved ones some mooncakes to celebrate — three weeks to be exact. So, you’re looking for unique flavours or unique boxes, this list of unique mooncakes to get in 2024 has you covered.
1. The Deli at Goodwood Park Hotel
Goodwood Park Hotel, 22 Scotts Road
Open: Monday to Sunday (10am to 8pm)
To kick off the list, we have a perennial favourite: Goodwood Park Hotel’s well-loved snow skin mooncakes but with a new flavour — kumquat melon with macadamia, which go for S$50 for two pieces, or four for S$80. You’ll like this if you’re looking for unique mooncake flavours that aren’t too sweet — the combination of kumquat melon and macadamia gives a slightly tangy and nutty taste, with a texture similar to that of a walnut cake.
If you want more choice, there is its snow skin mooncake combo (S$84 for four pieces), an all-inclusive assortment of four different flavours — the new kumquat melon with macadamia and the hotel’s all-time-favourite flavours: Mango with pomelo, cempedak and D24 durian.
The mooncakes are available for walk-in purchases with immediate collection at its in-house shop The Deli, subject to availability. Pre-order for self-pick-up or delivery are available through its Festive Online Shop.
You can place an order through Goodwood Park Hotel’s mooncake deli hotline at +65 6730 1868, email, or through its website from now to September 17.
2. Capitol Kempinski Hotel
Capitol Singapore, B2-53, 15 Stamford Road
Open: Mondays to Sundays (11am to 7pm)
Known for its blend of heritage and modernity, Capitol Kempinski has brought about these elements in its mooncake collection with its incorporation of classic and contemporary flavours.
If you’re looking for traditional mooncakes done right but with a fresh touch, the hotel has introduced new flavours to its baked mini mooncakes range — there’s red bean osmanthus with mixed nuts, black sesame paste with egg yolk and lava custard. Get a set of eight pieces from S$95 or customise your own luxurious two-tier Tiffany-toned box with different flavours for S$96.
Fans of its snow skin range, fret not, it’s still available with new flavours, too: Yuzu osmanthus and mocha baileys, with a customisable set of eight pieces going for $102.
Place an order on its website, through email, or through its hotline at +65 6715 6852 from now to September 17.

Open: Monday to Sunday (10am to 9pm)
This next one is for all the artsy gals and guys: Janice Wong’s signature mooncake collection comes in an elegant handbag that’s also very functional — it comes with a deep inner compartment once you remove the mooncake cases and a metallic clasp closure. Its mini mooncakes come encased in a metal tin that’s just as lavish, with a similar colour theme, which we think will work great as a repurposed jewellery tray.
You can get your hands on this exquisite handbag with its signature chocolate or baked mooncake collection (S$95 for eight pieces), or its snow skin collection (S$95 for four pieces).
As for the flavours, we recommend getting its snow skin mooncakes in these flavours: Sweet potato cashew, hojicha chestnut coffee, hinako macadamia and matcha yuzu. Overall, the flavours are earthy and tinged with a mellow sweetness, making it the best accompanying snack to hot pot of Chinese tea.
You can place your orders online through Janice Wong’s website, or at its boutiques in-store and through email.
4. Paradise Group

If you love your drinks and happen to be looking for a boozy mooncake collection to celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, we have just the one for you.
Paradise Group is introducing two new flavours to its mini liqueur snow skin mooncake collection (S$70 per box of eight pieces, two pieces per flavour). The new flavours are its tropical-inspired whiskey orange with white lotus paste and a reimagined classic of rum and raisin with white lotus paste. The mini liqueur snow skin mooncake collection also comes with its signature white peach prosecco with chestnut paste and yuzu sake with chestnut paste. It’s a trove of exquisite flavours that will satisfy any alcohol lover’s palate.
Its mooncakes are available at all Paradise Group of restaurants except Paradise Hotpot, Le Shrimp Ramen, LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar and Canton Paradise Noodle and Congee House restaurants, from now to September 17.
5. Shangri-La Boutique by Shangri-La Singapore
Shangri-La Singapore, 22 Grange Road

Shangri-La Singapore has done it once again with its beautiful mooncake boxes. If you’re a demure girly who loves repurposing the year’s mooncake stash, you’ll love its retro-style round mooncake box design.
This year’s collection features a round, two-tiered jewellery holder reminiscent of the ones made in the 1960s to 1980s. It comes in three gorgeous colours: Matte gold, Tiffany blue, and scarlett. In a subtle touch of elegance, the boxes are also lightly embossed with Shangri-La’s signature flower, the peony.
This exquisite set comes with the hotel’s signature traditional baked mooncakes with less sugar, and thin golden-brown pastry. Go for its Shang Palace Four Treasures (S$91 per box) set, which comes with its new black sesame with walnut, and its signature white lotus seed paste in plain, with a single yolk or with a double yolk.
You can place your orders at its website online from now to September 17.
6. Raffles Hotel Singapore
North Bridge Road Atrium, Raffles Singapore, 328 North Bridge Road

You could get a box of eight pieces for S$97, or for S$108 if you’re going for its new limited edition flavour — Guojiao 1573 baijiu black sesame truffle snow skin mooncake — it’s a decadent mix of floral aromatics and rich chocolate with an earthy undertone.

7. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
Singapore Changi Airport, 01-01, 75 Airport Boulevard
Open: Monday to Sunday (6.30am to 12am)
This mooncake set is one for the travel enthusiast: Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has launched a travel-themed mooncake set that’s refined and multi-functional — you could keep them as a jewellery case or a carrying case for lightweight items. We can already see ourselves using this in our suitcases for our next trip!
Fitted with retro-inspired straps and a metal buckle, this mooncake set comes in two gorgeous colour schemes: Chirpy orange and light-gold, and a pretty pastel blue and baby pink. Each luggage-inspired case comes with four mooncakes, either with snow skin or as traditional baked options (both at S$83 each).
If you’re looking for fun flavours, we recommend the assorted snow skin collection, which comes with these four flavours: Pistachio with hazelnut truffle, cinnamon apple strudel with cream cheese and apple truffle, creme brulee with vanilla truffle and matcha with sakura truffle. Do note that while we love the flavours, we think the snow skin is thicker than what you might be used to — great for those who love their mooncake skins extra chewy.
Place your orders on its website here from now to September 17.
8. Thye Moh Chan
Multiple outlets islandwide.
Open: Operating hours vary across stores
For those looking for traditional flavours with a twist, Thye Moh Chan’s mooncake collection will give you just that — it features traditional mooncake flavours baked within its signature, classic flaky pastry instead of the regular baked mooncakes you might be accustomed to.
Opening the box is also an experience, as its Perfect Harmony and Joyous Reunion collections (S$70.80 for six pieces) come in a box that resembles a painted lantern, and even comes with a wooden stick for you to raise it up like one. We’re huge fans of alternative uses of mooncake packaging if you can’t already tell and this one definitely takes the cake.
Its mooncakes are available for purchase at all Thye Moh Chan outlets and selected BreadTalk outlets (except for BreadTalk HQ, Nex, Chinatown Point, The Centrepoint, Jurong Point, and Marina Bay Link Mall) and all Toast Box outlets (except Nex, Jewel Changi, Chinatown Point and Jurong Point), till September 17.
