The Thai capital boasts a vibrant scene of food, culture, tradition, and have we mentioned, food? Amongst all the noodles and spice, you’ll find a growing cafe scene with top notch coffee and international cuisines weaved with traditional Thai flavours.
If you’re heading over, here’s a guide to some of Bangkok’s best cafes that are worth a visit — we’ve got 28 for you to pick and choose from, across the different areas, so you’ll never be bored.
1. Tempered Cooperatives
59 Soi Ruam Rudi 2, Pathum Wan, Bangkok
Open: Monday to Sunday (8am to 6pm)
Why visit? You’ve heard of coffee roasteries but have you heard of a chocolate one? Tempered Cooperative is Thailand’s first, making it one of the more unique cafes in Bangkok. It occupies a five-storey building, where the smell of fresh cocoa wafts through the hallways as chocolate is made in-house.
The second floor has a speed bar, where you can place orders, while the third floor is an open concept dining area. Sip on your chocolate and tuck into a little sweet treat while surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass windows that temporarily whisks you away from a busy city.
Amongst all things chocolatey and decadent, Tempered Cooperatives also offers light, iced drinks and savoury pastries too. If avoiding the goodness of sugar, opt for the 75% cocoa items that are bittersweet instead.
Crowd favourites: On a hot, sunny day in Bangkok, the iced chocolate (160 baht or S$6.30) will always be the go-to here. Balance it out with the basic butter croissant (95 baht).
If you’re having coffee and want your chocolate in your pastry instead, the chocolate lava croissant (195 baht) is known to be finger-licking good.

A quick peek at their social media tells us that the decor changes with the season, so if you’ve been here once, a second trip may be necessary!
The flowers don’t end at the decor but make their way into the small menu with floral teas and cakes amongst some other tea-time cafe staples.
Crowd favourites: The tropical heat of Bangkok demands an icy treat so the homemade ice-cream (100 baht) is a natural bestseller with floral flavours such as cherry rose, mint rose and lavender.
The same flavours can be found in a pot of tea (90 baht) that goes perfectly with a sweet-and-tart apple crumble (160 baht) slice.

28. Onibus Coffee Bangkok
22 Soi Samran Rat, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok
Open: Monday to Sunday (8am to 5pm)
Why visit? Located in Once Again Hostel and a stone throw away from the popular breakfast spot, On Lok Yun, Onibus Coffee is celebrated for being a famed third-wave specialty coffee hailing from Tokyo.
While the space is small, it’s encased in beautiful wall to ceiling windows and serves top notch quality coffee and a variety of cakes. It’s a good spot to pop-in when you need that midday cup of Joe, especially if you’re looking for a good coffee. Choose your brew from Colombia, Rwanda, Honduras, Kenya, or Guatemala. It’s also worth mentioning that as experts in coffee, Onibus has made the effort to include a decaffeinated option in their menu so anyone who’d like to get a taste minus the caffeinated kick, can enjoy a cup too!
Crowd favourites: You can’t go wrong with the hand drip coffee whether hot (180 baht) or iced (200 baht). Pair it with a slice of their moist stout cake (100 baht) and you have the perfect pick-me-up.
