Taiwanese cafe Wong Fu Fu is back with yet another adorable collaboration.

Following past fun collaborations such as Cinnamoroll and Hangyodon, the cafe is venturing into something a tad more nostalgic — My Little Pony, a series of pony characters, which were first created by toy company Hasbro in 1981.

If you grew up watching its animated series released over the years, this might be your sign for a little throwback at Wong Fu Fu, where you can expect plenty of themed treats and collectible goodies that’ll bring you right back to your childhood.

The My Little Pony pop-up began on March 27, and is slated to run for a limited period of about two months, as with its other past character pop-ups.

Curious about what it’s got? We got a sneak peek:

Once you arrive at Wong Fu Fu’s space at North Bridge Road, a burst of bright colours and larger-than-life stickers of its iconic ponies greet you.

Inside, the cafe is just as playful, decked out in My Little Pony decor from wall to wall — think bursts of rainbow colours, patterned tables, My Little Pony prints, and even cute plushies at selected tables that you can snap photos with.

My Little Pony-themed treats

For the Wong Fu Fu x My Little Pony menu, you can expect a selection of three mains, eight snacks, six drinks, and one dessert platter.

We don’t usually start with desserts, but for this pop-up, you’d want to.

The mini dessert platter (S$32.90) stole the show for us, dishing up eight bite-sized desserts and a My Little Pony “Magic Potion” blind box.

The platter features a mix of sweet treats, including a lychee macaron, Nutella mini pancakes, Oreo cheesecake, New York cheesecake, caramel milk pudding, milk mochi ice cream, strawberry tanghulu, and a layered jelly cup.

Our favourite was the New York cheesecake for its dense, velvety richness, while the caramel milk pudding stood out for its smooth, balanced sweetness.

Sure, the mini desserts are adorable, but what got us excited was the pretty-in-pink, heart-shaped blind box, which included not one, but three mini figurines!

There are a total of 16 designs up for grabs, and makes for a fun experience as you guess which three nestled within the gorgeous casing. (We think it doubles up as a handy jewellery case, too, once you’re done with the surprise!)

Onto its mains, we got to try two, with the We’re Magic Together grilled salmon truffle cream pasta (S$23.90) being one of the more indulgent options.

It features spaghetti coated in a rich truffle cream sauce, paired with Japanese shiitake mushrooms, star cheddar, and grilled salmon. No blind boxes here, but you get a My Little Pony food card and cheddar cheese stars.

If you’re at the cafe for brunch (it opens at 12pm, afterall), you can also consider the Mornings… What Ever Great Morning breakfast (S$24.90), which is essentially a hearty big breakfast set.

The plate comes with golden tater tots, scrambled eggs, grilled chicken sausage, and turkey bacon. Our favourite part had to be the fluffy mini pancakes, stored in a My Little Pony-embellished box — who can say no to such cute bite-sized portions?

By now we were stuffed so we didn’t get to try its third main, but the Superrr Magical! Korean fried chicken burger (S$22.90) makes for a great pick.

It features crispy Korean fried chicken glazed in a sweet soy sauce, layered with tomatoes, lettuce, and melted cheddar cheese, all sandwiched in a striking purple mantou bun.

Snacks-wise, there are eight different options to choose from, all served in an adorable My Little Pony–themed box complete with wings, with highlights such as the crispy Taiwan salt and pepper chicken (S$13.90), and Taiwan sweet potato fries with plum powder (S$12.90).

Don’t just focus on the food, though, you’d want to save some space for the themed drinks, too — one series comes topped with a fluffy cloud of cotton candy, while the other has an ethereal-looking bubble over it.

Choices for the ones with the cotton candy cloud include the Fluffy Cloud iced chocolate with strawberry sauce (S$13.90) and the Floaty Cloud matcha strawberry latte (S$13.90).

If strawberry isn’t your thing — as both come with strawberry compote — you can also opt for the cafe’s regular drinks such as iced chocolate (S$12.90) or iced matcha latte (S$12.90).

For something a little more magical, Wong Fu Fu x My Little Pony’s Pop A Magical Bubble drinks (S$11.90) comes served in a glowing cup that lights up.

Each drink comes topped with a bubble blown over the rim — just pop it to release a puff of strawberry-scented smoke, which makes for quite the ‘gram-worthy moment.

It’s available in two flavours — bubbly muscat grape and lychee rose soda, both of which make for a great, refreshing drink especially if you’ve walked under the hot sun to the cafe.

Die-hard My Little Pony fans or those who find the colourful ponies adorable will be glad to know that there are themed merchandise available in the cafe, too! (Yes, there are plushies that you can purchase!)

If you’re making plans to head down to the Wong Fu Fu x My Little Pony pop-up, do note that Wong Fu Fu requires each person to clock a minimum spend of S$20 per diner (before service charge — Wong Fu Fu does not charge GST), excluding merchandise purchases.

Children under 12 years old, those between 95cm and 135cm in height, or those occupying a seat or baby chair, are required to order either a kid’s meal or a snack.

With so many cute My Little Pony items in-store, we’re sure fans wouldn’t sweat these logistical matters — just remember to head down soon, because there’s no definitive end date to the pop-up, though we hear it’ll be here for about two months!
