Ruth’s Chris Steak House is celebrating its big 60!

Opened in 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the iconic steakhouse has become a household name not just known in the States, but by steak lovers all over the world — it has over 150 outlets all over the globe!

PS If you were curious about the name, it’s because founder Ruth Fertel bought over a restaurant named Chris Steak House.

In contrast, the Singapore outlet at Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay is only 13 years old, having been opened in 2012.

But Ruth’s Chris Steak House is bringing the party to steak aficionados all over the world, launching a special limited-time 60th anniversary course menu that can also be enjoyed at the Singapore outlet until the end of the year!

What do you get when you order Ruth’s Chris Steak House’s limited-time 60th anniversary course menu (S$198 per diner)?

The menu is a feast that starts with a specially selected aperitif welcome drink, before guests are treated to three luxurious seafood dishes in the seafood trio.

The trio comprises the sizzlin’ blue crab cake, sizzlin’ jumbo scallop, and Oyster Rockefeller.

Of the three, we enjoyed the crab cake the most as the juicy and luscious crab was simply a delight, but we can see oyster fans being partial to the plump and creamy Oyster Rockefeller, too.

There’s not much distractions as Ruth’s Chris Steak House quickly goes into what it does best — steak.

But not just any steak, it’s a premium petite filet (6 oz) with truffle crust

Extra fancy for a special occasion, right?

As with tradition, the steak is served on a sizzling plate that’s been heated to 260°C, to ensure the right temperature from start to finish. And if you’d like, you can even request a change of plates when it cools down!

Needless to say, the immensely juicy and tender steak itself was perfectly done, as one would expect from Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

But it’s the crust that really elevates it, using a medley of truffle butter, parmesan, and panko breadcrumbs to give it a bit more textural contrast, as well as a luxurious truffle aroma.

A steakhouse meal isn’t complete without sides and you get a choice of three very classic but well-done accoutrements to go with the steak: Mashed potatoes, pan-roasted wild mushrooms, or grilled asparagus with hollandaise.

For us, we thought Ruth’s Chris Steak House did a great pan-roasted wild mushroom — it’s juicy and well-seasoned, but not so strong that they clashed with the steak!

Capping it all off is Ruth’s dessert, the brand’s signature cheesecake.

Nothing much to say about this — rich, creamy, indulgent, and a good way to end the meal.

If you’re a steak lover, why not pay a visit and celebrate the big 60 with one of the world’s most well-known steakhouses?

This was a hosted tasting.
