With quite a few long weekends and holidays coming up (*cough* Mother’s Day *cough*), you might be looking for something special to do with all that downtime, whether it’s with your family or friends.

Here’s an idea: Peony Jade has a new slew of a la carte delights lined up to entice the young and young at heart.

Just look at these totally adorable, animal-themed dim sum treats, for example — they’re just too-cute-to-eat!

There’s the Quackers, Chompers & Soo-ers platter (S$20.80) — a set of three savoury dim sum dumplings.

This cute savoury platter comes with:

  • Cheeky Duckie, a crispy “hum shui gok”-style dumpling stuffed with minced chicken and mushrooms
  • A stir-fried soy iberico pork-filled Dino Rumble Dinosaur with almond crisps embedded down its back
  • Soo…The Racing Escargot, a chicken dumpling with a lightly chewy glutinous rice exterior, and just the slightest hint of mala.

If sweets are more your thing, the Penguin, Prickle & Puffy platter (S$18.80) — a similar platter of three dim sum pieces — will have your fancy.

This comprises Mr Penguin, an endearingly bug-eyed steamed bun of pandan kaya lotus paste, Chubbycheeks Hedgehog with black sesame and a Japanese miso core, and The Beary Encounter of fresh almond cream and a coat of pork floss “fur”.

If you can’t get enough of all of the cuteness, there’s also the surprisingly detailed chocolate mousse Dog-a-bone (S$12). The sweet, icy treat even sports paw pads and a cute little tail, and should be enjoyed quickly (before it melts!)

The classic chilled mango and sago pomelo dessert (S$12) gets a cute upgrade in the form of a Beary Bear mango mousse centre that might pull at your heartstrings a little as it melts.

These artfully designed dishes can be enjoyed a la carte, alongside Peony Jade’s ongoing promotions: A daily dim sum buffet brunch (from S$49.80 per adult, S$25.80 per child) with over 40 items on offer, an a la carte dinner buffet (from S$59.80 per adult, S$25.80 per child), or a Parents’ Day set menu (S$680 for eight diners).

If you happen to be dining during the Parents’ Day weekends (May 3, 4, 10 and 11, and June 7, 8, 14 and 15), you’ll also enjoy a free all-you-can-eat durian dessert buffet worth S$68 per diner!

With all these ongoing promotions and cute treats, there isn’t a better time to head down to Peony Jade. We’re sure your parents will be glad, too.

This was a hosted tasting.
