McDonald’s refreshes McCrispy Fried Chicken and adds new coleslaw to the menu

McDonald’s Singapore is giving its McCrispy a refresh!

Available from November 5, the fried chicken is making a comeback at fast-food giant in two options and with a fresh twist: spicy and signature. 

Think McSpicy in crispy, fried-chicken form: It’s crunchy on the outside, juicy inside and seriously shiok.

The McCrispy fried chicken spicy features a revised recipe with a stronger chilli kick, with chicken marinated in a savoury blend of garlic, onion, and spices, then coated for extra crunch. 

The signature version is non-spicy and gets an updated recipe, too. A two-piece meal starts at S$7.95 and includes one thigh and one drumstick. 

If you can take the heat, we’d recommend the spicy version for an extra kick. It had us sweating just a little, but we still thoroughly enjoyed it.

McDonald’s is also introducing a new coleslaw for S$2.50. Creamy and lightly tangy, it adds a refreshing contrast to the chicken and pairs especially well with the spicy version.

Also making a return: McDonald’s crinkle-cut fries, which you can add to your meal for an extra S$1.

Do not stop talking about Bite Club!

To celebrate the launch of its refreshed McCrispy, McDonald’s is launching a Bite Club event inspired by the Hollywood film Fight Club.

Not only will fans get an exclusive first taste of the refreshed McCrispy, the chicken will also be free-flow so you can eat your fill!

There’s also a punching bag challenge to win exclusive merchandise, a photobooth, and a Sprite station where you can customise your bottles with special fried-chicken stickers.

We had fun trying the challenge, even though we didn’t quite hit the high score!

Every Bite Club guest will receive a complimentary goodie bag filled with a handkerchief, tote bag, hand fan, and wet wipes, too. 

The event will take place on October 30 and 31, from 9pm to 11pm at McDonald’s Aperia Mall. 

To snag entry, log in to the McDonald’s app, tap “Bite Club” under “Deals & Rewards”, choose your preferred date and redeem your ticket for 2,500 MyM rewards points. This gets you an entry code for you and one guest.

Whether or not you make it to the preview, mark your calendars for November 5, when the refreshed McCrispy and sides arrive at 11am. They’ll be available at McDonald’s restaurants islandwide, including drive-thrus, McDelivery, major food delivery platforms, for a limited time while stocks last.
