Korean steakhouse Gu:um serves up weekend steak brunch at S$98

Sarah Chua | March 11, 2025

Gu:um’s latest weekend steak brunch brings the best of both worlds — Korean barbecue and brunch — all in one sitting, with the option to add on a free-flow alcohol option, too.

If you haven’t been, Gu:um is a new contemporary steakhouse that opened just under a year ago along Keong Saik Road, and is helmed by chef Louis Han of Michelin-starred Nae:um

Despite serving up premium grilled Korean cuts, you’ll get no smoke in your eyes or clothes as everything is done within the confines of its open kitchen.

Running on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11.30am to 4.30pm, the weekend steak brunch comes with a steak platter of four assorted premium meat cuts and seafood, and a variety of side dishes.

It is priced at S$98 for adults, while children under 12 years old get to dine at half-off, as long as there is at least one accompanying paying adult.

In case you’re wondering just how much food S$98 gets you, here’s the full spread:

  • Bruschetta with avocado, cherry tomatoes, and plum dressing
  • Seafood pajeon, a potato pancake with grilled seafood and leak
  • Tajima wagyu striploin
  • Iberian pork collar
  • Gochujang-marinated organic chicken thigh
  • Drumlets with Korean plum and chilli
  • Atlantic red prawn
  • Veggie Royale, a spread of grilled vegetables
  • Ju meokbap, or Korean fist-shaped riceballs
  • Mashed potato with chopped fermented chilli
  • Injeolmi tiramisu, a Korean take on the Italian dessert, except with Korean rice cake (injeolmi)

The spread comes with the restaurant’s usual spread of banchan (side dishes), as well as greens to wrap your meats with, if you prefer.

Imbibers have the option to add a two-hour free-flow alcohol option at S$50, which nets you unlimited bubblies, and housepour red and white wines — quite the steal, if you love your boozy brunches.

If you prefer less meat and a deeper dive into Gu:um’s offerings, or simply prefer dining on a weekday, there is its Gu:um Sang sharing set menu at S$168 per person.

It comes with a smattering of Gu:um’s favourites such as its yukhwae jeon (beef tartare potato pancake), mulhwae guksu (sashimi with cold salad soup), an assorted meat and seafood platter, as well as its pork kimchi stew and a dessert, too.

Either way, if you’ve never been to Gu:um, both its weekend steak brunch and sharing set menu offer a good glimpse into this up-and-coming Korean venue’s offerings, and at a value-for-money price point, too.

We’d save this spot for the next time we’re craving Korean barbecued meats, but don’t want to put in the work (or get our clothes smoky!).
