Snag these limited-edition malatang plush bags at Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang’s newest Marina Square concept store
If you’re a malatang lover, chances are you’ve come across Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang — the world’s largest malatang chain with nearly 7,000 outlets worldwide.

Now, Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang’s first-ever concept store in Asia has opened in Singapore, right in the heart of Marina Square.
This means you’ll find new menu items debuting here first, before they roll out to other stores in Singapore. In other words, this is where you’ll get a first-hand look at everything Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang has up its sleeves. One of them? The soon-to-be released spicy fragrant pot, a dry-style take on the classic malatang.
Malatang merch and dine-in deals

Perhaps the more exciting bit for malatang fans: You can now redeem an adorable malatang plush bag with a minimum spend of S$30.
Or, try your luck at getting one of its ingredient-themed phone grips — it’s a random draw — with a minimum spend of S$20.

These items are only available while stocks last.
To celebrate its opening at Marina Square, you can also enjoy 20% off your total bill, from now till June 29.
Three broth base choices and over 80 ingredients

As you pick your ingredients, you’ll see rows of glistening trays stacked with more than 80 fresh options.
From seafood choices to tender cuts of meat (including my all-time favourite, the smoked duck), it’s a do-it-yourself playground for malatang lovers.
You get a choice from three rich, aromatic soup bases — all built from recipes honed over the years.
If you’re wondering about the pricing, it’s a pretty good deal: S$3.18 per 100g, no matter your broth or ingredient mix. So pick your ingredients wisely!

We had the classic herbal beef bone broth (470g of ingredients, S$14.94). We picked some popular ingredients to go with it, such as some quail eggs, beancurd skin, and broccol, alongside some spinach noodles.

The broth is slow-cooked for six to eight hours, drawing out deep flavours from over 20 oriental spices and herbs — such as the fragrant Sichuan Hanyuan peppercorn and the earthy Hainan white pepper that are sourced from multiple regions.
The result is a soothing, umami-packed broth that is both nourishing and flavourful. It ties every ingredient together, making for a hearty and comforting bowl.

As spice lovers, we of course had to try the dry signature spicy mix (362g of ingredients, S$11.51) for its peppery kick.
In this bowl, we picked on more of our favourite ingredients — such as the pork belly sliced, potato, sweet corn, and cheese tofu.
The spicy mix sauce is served on the side, so you can adjust the heat to your liking. It was noticeably spicier than the beef bone broth, which we loved.
If you’re a fan of dry-style mala, this is the one to go for. The rich, nutty undertones from the peanuts also come through nicely, adding a good balance to the spice.

The regular instant noodles were the perfect amount of chewy and springy — we say this goes perfectly with the spicy mix.
The third base option is a sweet and sour tomato flavour broth. It’s a choice you might prefer, if you want something gentler on the heat.

The new outlet comes with a well-stocked sauce station, offering all the staples: such as sesame paste, soy sauce, crushed garlic and chilli oil. It’s self-service, so you can customise your dip to your liking.
Whether you’re in it for the quirky malatang plush bag, the cute ingredient phone grips, or simply want to take advantage of that 20% discount, Yang Guo Fu’s Marina Square outlet has all that in store.
