KFC celebrates Chinese New Year with all-new la zi ji chicken, fortune-cat blind box & more

Angeline Ang | January 9, 2026

KFC is kicking off the year with back-to-back launches. After rolling out new dipping sauces on January 2, KFC is already back with another festive drop, this time, for the Chinese New Year period. There is a spicy, peppery la zi ji chicken (otherwise known as firecracker chicken), alongside other menu items to look forward to and a few fun collectibles!

These limited-time menu items will be available from January 14 to February 25. If you’re a spice lover, or a die-hard mala fan, this one’s calling your name.

The spicy la zi ji crunch (from S$4.80) is bold, generously topped with dried red chilli, chilli oil and numbing peppercorns. The spice lingers just enough to keep you reaching for another bite, with that addictive numbing kick that mala fans will appreciate.

If you prefer it bite-sized, the la zi ji bites (from S$4.45) deliver the same mala hit in popcorn-chicken version, which means smaller, snackable pieces.

This is one that you shouldn’t skip: Mala lotus root chips (from S$1.80). It is crisp, addictive, and made for mindless snacking that comes straight from the bag.

To round things off, there’s the new mango pomelo sago pie (from S$1.80), which oozes with creamy mango sago as you bite into it — a sweet, soothing contrast to all that spice. It’s a satisfying finish to your la zi ji meal.

For sharing, the la zi ji crunch bucket (S$20.80) comes with five pieces of  la zi ji chicken, while the la zi ji crunch Buddy meal (from S$29.80) adds onto it with la zi ji bites, two whipped potatoes, and two Sjora mango peach drinks.

The Huat feast (S$38.80) comes with eight pieces of chicken, six hot & crispy chicken bites, three Original Recipe tenders, plus sides of coleslaw and whipped potato, making it ideal for Chinese New Year gatherings with groups!
